Synopsis Search for Signatures of Extra Dimensions in the Diphoton Mass Spectrum at the Large Hadron Collider by :

A search for signatures of extra dimensions in the diphoton invariant-mass spectrum has been performed with the CMS detector at the LHC. No excess of events above the standard model expectation is observed using a data sample collected in proton-proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.2 fb−1. In the context of the large-extra-dimensions model, lower limits are set on the effective Planck scale in the range of 2.3-3.8 TeV at the 95% confidence level. These limits are the most restrictive bounds on virtual-graviton exchange to date. The most restrictive lower limits to date are also set on the mass of the first graviton excitation in the Randall-Sundrum model in the range of 0.86-1.84 TeV, for values of the associated coupling parameter between 0.01 and 0.10.

Synopsis New Phenomena I by :

This paper summarizes results of recent searches for new phenomena with the CDF and D0 detectors at the Fermilab Tevatron. All results shown correspond to analysis from the past Run I data corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of (approximately) 100 pb−1 per experiment. In particular, the authors show new results from stop quark searches, neutral supersymmetric Higgs boson searches, a reinterpretation of the CDF second and third generation leptoquark searches in terms of leptoquark resonant production through technicolor interactions and, finally, they report a new D0 search for large extra space dimensions from high mass Drell-Yan dielectron and diphoton events.

Synopsis Search for Large Extra Spatial Dimensions in Dimuon Production at by :

We present the results of a search for the e.ects of large extra spatial dimensions in p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV in events containing a pair of energetic muons. The data correspond to 246 pb−1 of integrated luminosity collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Good agreement with the expected background was found, yielding no evidence for large extra dimensions. We set 95% C.L. lower limits on the fundamental Planck scale between 0.85 TeV and 1.27 TeV within several formalisms. These are the most stringent limits achieved in the dimuon channel to date.

Synopsis Search for New Physics in Dilepton and Diphoton Final States at CDF. by : Xin Wu

The CDF detector has accumulated a large data sample of p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron. In this report we present the results of searches for physics beyond the Standard Model using final states of 2 leptons or 2 photons using 190 pb{sup -1} to 448 pb{sup -1} of data. No deviation from the predictions of Standard Model was observed. The non-observation was used to derive cross section limits on contributions to these final states from possible new physics processes. For many specific new physics models, such as Z', Randall-Sundrum Graviton, Large Extra Dimensions and SUSY, these cross section limits can be used to place strong constraints on their parameters.

Synopsis Searches for New Physics Using High Mass Dimuons at the CDF II Experiment by : Müge Karagöz Ünel

The Collider Detector at Fermilab collected approximately 200 pb -1 of Tevatron pp¯ collision data at s = 1.96 TeV between spring 2002 and fall 2003. We present results for searches for new physics in the dimuon final state using these data. The searches include heavy neutral particles predicted within extended gauge groups (various Z's), Technicolor (vector mesons), R-parity violating Supersymmetry (scalar neutrino), and warped extra dimensions (Randall-Sundrum gravitons). We present 95% Confidence Level (C.L.) upper limits on the production cross section times the branching ratio of new particles as a function of the dimuon invariant mass and place 95% C.L. lower mass bounds on the particles. Current limits exceed published limits of previous direct searches in the dimuon channel. We also pioneered search strategies and exploration of some models. Limit results from the electron and muon combined channels are also presented.

Synopsis New Phenomena Searches at CDF. by : Aron Soha

The authors report on recent results from the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) experiment, which is accumulating data from proton-antiproton collisions with {radical}s = 1.96 TeV at Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron. The new phenomena being explored include Higgs, Supersymmetry, and large extra dimensions. They also present the latest results of searches for heavy objects, which would indicate physics beyond the Standard Model.

Synopsis Search for Diphoton Events with Large Missing Transverse Energy in 6.3 Fb-1 of Ppbar Collisions Using the D0 Detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider by :

A search for diphoton events with large missing transverse energy produced in p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV is presented. The data were collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider between 2002 and 2010, and correspond to 6.3 fb−1 of integrated luminosity. The observed missing transverse energy distribution is well described by the Standard Model prediction, and 95% C.L. limits are derived on two realizations of theories beyond the Standard Model. In a gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking scenario, the breaking scale [Lambda] is excluded for [Lambda]
