Synopsis Scarecrow Gods by : Weston Ochse
Winner of the Bram Stoker Award! Scarecrow Gods is the tale of Maxom Phinxs, a black man tortured and disfigured in Vietnam. Maxom, called the Maggot Man by the Tennessee locals, is feared and reviled because of his appearance. Even so, he takes under his wing a troubled young boy named Danny who's fighting incest rumors to repair a shattered family, wondering every day if his sister will return to clear it all up. In southern Arizona, John the New Baptist has created a new religion promising salvation. Most people believe in his strange ways. They don't understand he is establishing a herd for his personal use. Only Simon, a faithless Alexian Brother, and a homeless man named Billy Bones who speaks in palindromes, anagrams and metaphor realize the evil and engage the Scarecrow Gods-a circle of immense saguaro dressed in Salvation Army clothes who speak wisdom in the wind from pursed coke bottle lips. Maxom, Simon, Danny and Billy, all fight and converge upon the center of evil as each journeys through the world of imagination, the Land of Inside-Out and across America, striving to defeat demons both personal and real to ultimately discover their deserved salvations.

Synopsis George Arliss by : Robert M. Fells
By any reasonable expectation, George Arliss should not have succeeded as a star, either on stage or in film. Yet he achieved a career enjoyed by very few in the performing arts. An actor, author, playwright, and filmmaker, George Arliss won acclaim for his work first on the stage and then later, most improbably, as a Hollywood movie star. His films achieved the rare distinction of being both artistic and financial successes. Though he was neither young nor handsome, Arliss found popular acclaim for his many historical characterizations such as Voltaire, Nathan Rothschild, Cardinal Richelieu, and Benjamin Disraeli. Robert Fells traces Arliss's life and times through his film work, providing a thoroughly researched and entertaining view of one of the most important, yet neglected figures in film history. The book also reviews the actor's uneasy relationship with screenwriters, his clashes with British film producer Michael Balcon, his championing of young unknowns such as Bette Davis and James Cagney, and his prosecution by the British Government during World War II. It also includes a complete filmography and a selected stageography of Arliss's work. Includes 20 photos.

Synopsis Attributes of God by : A.W Pink
A Transforming Knowledge of the Living God The timeless appeal of this classic book, written by a preacher with a worldwide ministry during the first half of the twentieth century, demonstrates the deep hunger for a saving knowledge of God present in each generation. Arthur Pink sought to give readers not just a theoretical knowledge of God but pointed them toward a personal relationship of yielding to him and living according to his biblical precepts. Pink's book explores attributes such as God's decrees, foreknowledge, sovereignty, holiness, grace, and mercy, among many others, all packaged in a style especially useful for pastors, teachers, and Bible students. Our God who is above all names cannot be found through human searching alone, Pink teaches, but can be known only as he is revealed by the Holy Spirit through his living Word.

Synopsis The Plot To Kill God by : Edward F. Mrkvicka, Jr.
As we near the Second-Coming, the battle between good and evil intensifies. Sadly, the forces of evil are winning; mainly because too many Christians and the churches they attend are going along to get along. They’ll stand for God—as long as they can do so in silence. If their “faith” costs them anything, they want no part of it. The Bible warns us that we must know the enemy, but most of us are clueless. It’s so much easier to bury our heads in the sand and act like everything is okay—even though we know it’s not. Our Lord and Savior died in this world so we can experience life-everlasting. Put another way, God allowed His Son to be treated like we deserve to be treated so we could be treated like His Son. Why? Because He loves us. In John 15:13 it is stated, Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. And in return for Christ’s sacrifice, most of us remain mute. We’ve quietly let Him be kicked out of our places of business, our schools, our government (at all levels), our courts, and in some cases our churches and homes. And then when we need Him, we, in unmitigated hypocrisy, call for a National Day of Prayer (for example: immediately after 9/11). The spiritual war we’re facing is almost at an end. What we do, or don’t do, will determine the outcome. Jesus said it best in Matthew 12:30, He who is not with Me is against Me. That’s about as simple and direct as it can get. The spiritual war we all face is raging, and acting as if we’re a neutral nation in WWII is no longer an option. The choice is ours. We either stand with Christ or we become His enemy.

Synopsis Scarecrow by : Danny Weston
Jack and his dad are runaways. Jack’s father recently turned whistleblower, revealing the truth about the illicit dealings of some powerful people. Realising that he and Jack might be in danger, Dad drives them to a remote shooting lodge in the Scottish Highlands, where they intend to lay low. In the cornfield beside the lodge stands a scarecrow. When Jack witnesses something incredible, he begins to realise that it is no ordinary scarecrow – it is alive, hungry and fuelled by rage. And when Dad’s enemies begin to converge on the lodge, the scarecrow might just turn out to be Jack’s best hope of survival.
