Synopsis Saving a Celebrity Actor by : Heather Citulsky
Finally Dr. Sean Brad has found a way to help the executive producers, and director of the most popular show, get their hands on an endangered brown hyena without the hassle of red tape. It comes through his introduction of a DNA changing drug, which surprises all of them when, not only is it proven to work exactly the way the doctor tells them, but with who the doctor already has in mind for the DNA change. The hottest, most overly conceited celebrity actor, Christopher Sage, unexpectedly gets an appointment with Dr. Sean Brad for, what he thinks, and believes is just a regular check-up, but through false truths, ends up unknowingly being changed into an endangered animal for one full week for the TV show. Enter anti-celebrity actor novelist Cheyenne Citul, who finds out through her best friend that the doctor plans to permanently change the celebrity actor into the brown hyena, and profit from the endangered animal; and quickly goes along with her friends plan to save Christopher. While being secretly kept at her place, something unexpected happens between Christopher and Cheyenne, and leaves them wondering if there really could be true feelings between them.

Synopsis Behind the Bell by : Dustin Diamond
The teen stars of Saved by the Bell entertained global audiences for over a decade. On TV, the actors in this ground-breaking show portrayed characters of model behavior, though often indulging in a little innocent adolescent fun. But what was it like behind the scenes? What were these kids really like, and what was it like to live one's teenage years in front of the camera? Dustin Diamond, Saved by the Bell's Samuel Screech Powers, pulls back the curtains to reveal the truth about being a child star in Hollywood. Diamond shows what happens when kids grow up too fast, too rich, and too famous. Book jacket.

Synopsis Batman Saves the Congo by : Alexandra Cosima Budabin
How celebrity strategic partnerships are disrupting humanitarian space Can a celebrity be a “disrupter,” promoting strategic partnerships to bring new ideas and funding to revitalize the development field—or are celebrities just charismatic ambassadors for big business? Examining the role of the rich and famous in development and humanitarianism, Batman Saves the Congo argues that celebrities do both, and that understanding why and how yields insight into the realities of neoliberal development. In 2010, entertainer Ben Affleck, known for his superhero performance as Batman, launched the Eastern Congo Initiative to bring a new approach to the region’s development. This case study is central to Batman Saves the Congo. Affleck’s organization operates with special access, diversified funding, and significant support of elites within political, philanthropic, development, and humanitarian circuits. This sets it apart from other development organizations. With his convening power, Affleck has built partnerships with those inside and outside development, staking bipartisan political ground that is neither charity nor aid but “good business.” Such visible and recognizable celebrity humanitarians are occupying the public domain yet not engaging meaningfully with any public, argues Batman Saves the Congo. They are an unruly bunch of new players in development who amplify business solutions. As elite political participants, celebrities shape development practices through strategic partnerships that are both an innovative way to raise awareness and funding for neglected causes and a troubling trend of unaccountable elite leadership in North–South relations. Batman Saves the Congo helps illuminate the power of celebritized business solutions and the development contexts they create.

Synopsis The Fight for the Future: How People Defeated Hollywood and Saved the Internet--For Now by : Edward Lee
Wikipedia went dark on January 18, 2012. So did thousands of other websites, including search giant Google, all to protest a controversial copyright bill called the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). The protest even helped to ignite mass demonstrations on the streets of over 250 cities in all 27 countries of the European Union to stop a similar attempt to regulate the Internet under the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA). This book provides a gripping, behind-the-scenes look at how people organized the largest Internet protest in history, plus the largest single-day demonstration in the streets of 27 countries of the European Union. This grassroots movement involving millions of people won an unexpected, but historic first victory in the fight for a "free and open Internet."
