The Dragon was found in a burning by a Chicago police officer. He eventually joins the police to help fight superpowered criminals.

A collection of short comics that present an alternative view of the Savage Dragon, created by a variety of independent cartoonists including Erik Larsen, Benjamin Marra, Rachel Friere, Kat Roberts, Giannis Milonogiannis, George O'Connor, and others.

The Fiend impales and takes the Dragon to Debbie Harris' cemetery, while Overlord puts down attempts on his life, and the Police learn of Frank Darling's defeat of Skullface. The Dragon is attacked by many corpses brought to life by the Fiend, including that of Debbie Harris.

Rendered psychotic by the leech-like creature on the back of his neck, the Dragon goes on a downtown rampage. He combats She-Dragon, Star, and several of the homeless "freaks" such as Beast Boy, and finally, Mace. Meanwhile, Frank Darling is almost killed by Skullface.

As super-villains across Chicago fight over the mantle of leadership of the Vicious Circle, the Dragon, still with his bones broken, is found by a cabbie named Chester. Chris Robinson has become a police officer, and Liberty, Justice, and Freak Force have begun patrolling the streets for the villains running rampant. The Dragon arrives in time to prevent Mako, who has escaped from jail, from killing Alex Wilde and Phil Dirt. Meanwhile, She-Dragon is taken to meet Chelsea Nirvana, who has become Johnny Redbeard, and who has decided to join the battle for the leadership of the Vicious Circle.

The Fiend confronts and possesses Debbie Harris' mother. Meanwhile, Dragon searches for the Octopus creature, and is joined by Star.

The Police, Freak Force, Underground Freaks, and the villainous Octopus attack Cyberface and the Vicious Circle at a downtown public rally they are holding, where they have crucified the captive Dragon.
