Marriage and Occupational statistics are compiled for each year and summarized in tables and graphs. All entries were checked and rechecked using primary sources. Michael Sword is the descendant of German immigrants who first arrived in Philadelphia in 1737. He served in the Revolution in the Army and was in battles at Brandywine, Germantown, and Charleston, SC. This book will be of interest to genealogists, to military historians, and to researchers of the Sword family of Russell County, Virginia.

James Wilson was born 22 June 1767, probably in Virginia. He married Sarah Mounts (1775-1865) in 1795 in Bath County, Virginia. They had thirteen children. He died in 1857 in Wayne County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and Texas.

John Burk or Bourk was born in 1656. John was married several times, the name of the first wife was unknown. Their son was Thomas. His second wife was Mary. Their son was named John. John's third wife was Sarah Mayo. Their children were Mayo and Sarah. John's fourth wife was named Mary, and their daughters were named Lettice and Elizabeth. John's fourth wife was Ann Hutchins who's son was Henry. Other localities include Tennessee, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, Indiana, Wyoming and Idaho.
