Receipts showed a substantial Increase when compared with the previous year, due mostly to the sale of Crown timber which Increased by $1,602,000.00 reflecting the woods Industries recovery from the recession of the previous year. Sales of hunting and angling licenses again showed a moderate increase and our Provincial parks receipts also reflected the increased use of our recreational facilities. While over-all departmental activities continued to expand, we were able to maintain the level of our disbursements with that of the previous year. This was due in large part to a favourable fire season with the consequent savings in cost. In co-operation with the Federal government, a winter works program for the development of camp-site and picnic areas was again carried out.
