The society was organized for the purpose of disseminating correct infor mation concerning the cultivation of such fruits, flowers and trees as are adapted to the soil and climate of the state. To more fully carry on this line of work, the secretary desires to keep in touch with the horticulturists of the state by correspondence, or otherwise, and asks for reports on the nature and extent of fungus diseases or insect pests which have proven destructive in the past or are noticed for the first time in any locality, and that specimens be sent to him for identification and study and as material for the museum the society is now collecting. Reports on the condition of the fruit industry solicited from fruit growers in every township in the state.
