Synopsis Reload Love by : Lenya Heitzig
Will we try to forget all the things we've seen? Or will we see, really see, and then let our emotions lead us into a new way of living? This is the story of one woman who refused to look away from atrocities on her television screen. Lenya Heitzig allowed her heart to break at the plight of refugees and the deaths of innocent children, and then she begged God for a job to do. In this gritty, passionate story, Lenya details the epic way God answered her prayers—how a spark came to life turning weapons of war into something beautiful. Experience the hope found in a children's playground as you journey with her through the jungles of Burma and the war-torn streets of the Middle East. Though the shape of your heart and passion may look very different, you will find hope and inspiration in ordinary people who go to incredible lengths to share God's life-giving love.

Synopsis Love's Ellipsis by : Don Claybrook Ph.D.
I’ve called my book of poetry, Love’s Ellipsis! The Way to Wisdom! And, for reasons which I hope will become apparent. I’ve found that the Profound in life is often separated from the Ridiculous by only three dots. What a statement three little dots can make!. As you read, be on the lookout for the curious Ellipsis! It’s been used with intentionality! This collection contains a little bit of everything, and a lot of something for everyone. The cover proclaims that it is Poetry to be Shared, and that is my intention. Please feel free to share any or all of it (with attribution, of course) without asking or seeking specific or individual permission from my publisher or me. For example: I’ve written a Poem called Tinker Toys and Fiddlesticks, a tribute to both Spring Fever and my good friends, Jeannie and Brandt Stickel (page 128). If you would like to send that poem to a friend, relative, enemy or otherwise, simply change the names, attribute the poem to me, then just do it. That’s exactly what I did when I changed Stickel to Kellett in the last line of the poem, modified it accordingly, and then sent it to my good friends, Dan, Becky, and their daughter, Jordain, plus their three boys, my “adopted” sons, Kieran, Cael and Jase, my, “My First Family Not Named Claybrook.” I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Cathy Rowbottom, my colleague at the Mendocino Beacon and Fort Bragg Advocate-News. When she retired, I replaced her and we’ve traded puns ever since. She wrote the poem below for me very recently, but didn’t give it a name. She then gave it to me in jest I did the rest; but, I named it, My Replacement! Things like this keep me humble! With friends like Cathy, a man doesn’t need many! A special few will do!

Synopsis Do This for Love by : David Eubank
As coalition forces, led by brave Iraqi soldiers on the ground, slowly pushed ISIS out, the brutality of the terrorists was turned against thousands of civilians as they fled the fighting. There was no humanitarian template for responding to such ruthlessness; to attempt to help would take total commitment. Birthed in the war zones of Burma to stand with villagers under attack by the Burma Army and provide medical care, relief, and reporting, the Free Burma Rangers came to Mosul with twenty years of war zone experience in the jungle. Led by their founder, David Eubank, a former Ranger and U.S. Special Forces officer, medics, and cameramen from the teams in Burma, other foreign volunteers, and Dave’s wife and three children, came to fill the gap between the frontlines and the humanitarian community. They came living by the conviction that every person counts and the only force that can defeat hate is love. Four team members were wounded and one killed as they lived out that conviction with total commitment. This is their story.

Synopsis True Love by : Sarah Gerard
A Glamour Best Book of 2020 • A Bustle Best Books of 2020 • Winner of an Audiofile Earphones Award • An Entertainment Weekly 30 Hottest Book of the Summer • A Refinery29 25 Book You’ll Want To Read This Summer Selection • A Chicago Review of Books 10 Must-Read Books of the Month • A LitHub Most Anticipated Book of the Year • A The Millions Most Anticipated Book of the Year • A Shondaland 15 Hot Books for Summer One of today’s most provocative literary writers—the author of the critically-acclaimed Sunshine State and the Los Angeles Times First Fiction Award finalist Binary Star—captures the confused state of modern romance and the egos that inflate it in a dark comedy about a woman's search for acceptance, identity, and financial security in the rise of Trump. Nina is a struggling writer, a college drop-out, a liar, and a cheater. More than anything she wants love. She deserves it. From the burned-out suburbs of Florida to the anonymous squalor of New York City, she eats through an incestuous cast of characters in search of it: her mother, a narcissistic lesbian living in a nudist polycule; Odessa, a single mom with even worse taste in men than Nina; Seth, an artist whose latest show is comprised of three Tupperware containers full of trash; Brian, whose roller-coaster affair with Nina is the most stable “relationship” in his life; and Aaron, an aspiring filmmaker living at home with his parents, with whom Nina begins to write her magnum opus. Nina’s quest for fulfillment is at once darkly comedic, acerbically acute, and painfully human—a scathing critique of contemporary society, and a tender examination of our anguished yearning for connection in an era defined by detachment.

Synopsis Reload by : Mary Flanagan
An anthology of feminist cyberfiction and theoretical and critical writings on gender and technoculture. Most writing on cyberculture is dominated by two almost mutually exclusive visions: the heroic image of the male outlaw hacker and the utopian myth of a gender-free cyberworld. Reload offers an alternative picture of cyberspace as a complex and contradictory place where there is oppression as well as liberation. It shows how cyberpunk's revolutionary claims conceal its ultimate conservatism on matters of class, gender, and race. The cyberfeminists writing here view cyberculture as a social experiment with an as-yet-unfulfilled potential to create new identities, relationships, and cultures. The book brings together women's cyberfiction—fiction that explores the relationship between people and virtual technologies—and feminist theoretical and critical investigations of gender and technoculture. From a variety of viewpoints, the writers consider the effects of rapid and profound technological change on culture, in particular both the revolutionary and reactionary effects of cyberculture on women's lives. They also explore the feminist implications of the cyborg, a human-machine hybrid. The writers challenge the conceptual and institutional rifts between high and low culture, which are embedded in the texts and artifacts of cyberculture.
