Synopsis Transforming Curriculum Through Teacher-Learner Partnerships by : Nair, Pradeep

Empowering learners for life requires a fundamental shift in higher education curriculum design. New priorities, pedagogies, technologies, spaces, and assessment strategies are required to enable learners to take ownership of their learning. “Student-centeredness” concepts are still prescriptive in nature as most decisions on curriculum, assessment, teaching, and learning approaches are still teacher-centric. Teachers are developing student-centered learning environments without the involvement of the learners in the planning, decision making, and/or design process. In addition, some lecturers are still practicing the traditional approaches of content delivery and conventional assessment methods rather than experimenting with innovative practices suited for student-centered approaches. Therefore, there is an ongoing need for research focused on the importance and effectiveness of a paradigm shift in education that involves student-teacher partnerships, fueled by innovative teaching and learning designs, where students take an active role and contribute as partners in learning. Transforming Curriculum Through Teacher-Learner Partnerships captures experiences and evidence among teachers in exploring the possibility of active student participation in curriculum design, delivery, and assessment through teacher-learner partnership. The chapters address issues of teacher-learner partnerships in designing the learning environment and how student-centered methods create resilient, adaptable, and future-capable learners. While highlighting topics within this scope such as learner autonomy, learning performance, self-efficacy, and teaching pedagogy, this book is ideally intended for teachers, administrators, teacher educators, practitioners, stakeholders, researchers, academicians, and students interested in issues related to the teacher-learner partnership.

Synopsis Transdisciplinary Approaches to Learning Outcomes in Higher Education by : Kumar, Rajendra

The isolated nature of academic disciplines restricts the potential for collaborative problem-solving and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. This fragmentation limits the effectiveness of educational outcomes and fails to prepare students for the multidimensional demands of the modern world. To address this pressing issue, Transdisciplinary Approaches to Learning Outcomes in Higher Education provides a comprehensive framework for transdisciplinary research in higher education. This book offers a systematic approach to transdisciplinary research and equips researchers, educators, and policymakers with the tools needed to break down disciplinary barriers and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Through a series of case studies, theoretical frameworks, and practical guidelines, the book demonstrates how transdisciplinary approaches can lead to more effective teaching practices, curriculum design, and student engagement. It highlights the importance of integrating digital transformation, creativity, communication skills, and information technology tools to enhance learning outcomes in higher education.

Synopsis Research Anthology on Service Learning and Community Engagement Teaching Practices by : Management Association, Information Resources

The need for more empathetic and community-focused students must begin with educators, as service-learning has begun to grow in popularity throughout the years. By implementing service and community aspects into the classroom at an early age, educators have a greater chance of influencing students and creating a new generation of service-minded individuals who care about their communities. Teachers must have the necessary skills and current information available to them to provide students with quality service learning and community engagement curricula. The Research Anthology on Service Learning and Community Engagement Teaching Practices provides a thorough investigation of the current trends, best practices, and challenges of teaching practices for service learning and community engagement. Using innovative research, it outlines the struggles, frameworks, and recommendations necessary for educators to engage students and provide them with a comprehensive education in service learning. Covering topics such as lesson planning, teacher education, and cultural humility, it is a crucial reference for educators, administrators, universities, lesson planners, researchers, academicians, and students.

Synopsis Microcredentials for Excellence by : Rebecca Ferguson

Institutions all over the world are setting up microcredentials in responses to calls from governments and industry. These are short courses, usually offered online, with an emphasis on the needs of the workplace. More targeted than typical degree courses, they cover role-specific knowledge and help with essential workplace skills. They enable learners to study alongside their work, refreshing and updating their skills. With microcredentials, individuals can access the qualifications they need to get the jobs they want, retraining and upskilling whenever necessary. These are exciting possibilities, but how can they be achieved? Written for everyone with an interest in the policy, practice, or production of microcredentials, this book takes a realistic look at what is possible. Rooted in experience, research and practice, it identifies what makes these new courses distinctive and provides guidance on how to go about producing them and supporting learners. Differences in scale, funding, learners, and presentation are just some of the factors that mean microcredentials are not typical courses. Setting them up and sustaining them effectively requires thought and change in all areas of an institution, as well as new or extended partnerships with employers and professional organisations. Microcredentials for Excellence: A Practical Guide examines the range of roles that contribute to a successful microcredential as well as processes and frameworks developed to help with the development of a microcredentials programme. The book: - describes approaches to teaching and learning that work well with these courses; - identifies methods of course production and learning design that have proved successful when making the move to microcredentials; - suggests ways in which learners can be supported during their studies, especially in terms of wellbeing, accessibility, and mental health; - examines innovative practices in assessment and feedback that address some of the challenges for microcredentials in these areas; - explores the internal and external quality standards that may be applied, together with ways of evaluating and developing courses to meet these standards; and - looks ahead to possible futures for microcredentials, taking into account the different visions proposed by those developing them and those influencing that development.

Synopsis Advances in Information, Communication and Cybersecurity by : Yassine Maleh

This book gathers the proceedings of the International Conference on Information, Communication and Cybersecurity, held on November 10–11, 2021, in Khouribga, Morocco. The conference was jointly coorganized by The National School of Applied Sciences of Sultan Moulay Slimane University, Morocco, and Charles Darwin University, Australia. This book provides an opportunity to account for state-of-the-art works, future trends impacting information technology, communications, and cybersecurity, focusing on elucidating the challenges, opportunities, and inter-dependencies that are just around the corner. This book is helpful for students and researchers as well as practitioners. ICI2C 2021 was devoted to advances in smart information technologies, communication, and cybersecurity. It was considered a meeting point for researchers and practitioners to implement advanced information technologies into various industries. There were 159 paper submissions from 24 countries. Each submission was reviewed by at least three chairs or PC members. We accepted 54 regular papers (34\%). Unfortunately, due to limitations of conference topics and edited volumes, the Program Committee was forced to reject some interesting papers, which did not satisfy these topics or publisher requirements. We would like to thank all authors and reviewers for their work and valuable contributions. The friendly and welcoming attitude of conference supporters and contributors made this event a success!
