This edited volume systematically analyzes the connection between xenophobia, nativism, and Pan-Africanism. It situates attacks on black Africans by fellow black Africans within the context of ideals such as Pan-Africanism and Ubuntu, which emphasize unity. During the past five decades, sub-Saharan Africa has received more foreign aid than has any other region of the world, and yet poverty remains endemic throughout the region. As Kenneth Kalu argues, this does not mean that foreign aid has failed; rather, it means that foreign aid in its current form does not have the capacity to procure development or eradicate poverty. This is because since colonialism, the average African state has remained an instrument of exploitation, and economic and political institutions continue to block a majority of citizens from meaningful participation in the economy. Drawing upon case studies of Angola, Cameroon, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Nigeria, this book makes the case for redesigning development assistance in order to strike at the root of poverty and transform the African state and its institutions into agents of development.

The world today regards the Europeans as the fathers of Science and Technology and those who brought Light to the Black race. But if history says that civilization began in Africa, is it not correct to say that it was the Black race that taught the world Science and Technology? - Were the Blacks not the first Emperors of the world? - Is it not on record that at a point in human history, Africans were the most intelligent and the best instructed people in the world? - When the Europeans came to Africa, did they not see the Al-Azhur University in Egypt, University of Fez in Morocco and the University of Timbuktu in Mali? It is now generally accepted that from Cape to Cairo one sees a continent pregnant with resources but it is classified as the poorest by bank balance. The book uses African wisdom to help readers around the world to appreciate the African transformation. Change is always hardest at the beginning but it gets easier and better as days transform into years. Nothing in life changes without change. The book suggests ways of how Africa can swing the pendulum and rise to be a global shining star by owning and using its natural resources wisely and embracing transformational leadership. This would rewrite the economic order and turn the richest poor continent into a super rich continent.

Additionally, the impact of historical events such as the Atlantic slave trade and colonialism on Africa's indigenous knowledge remains largely unexplored, further contributing to the misunderstanding of Africa's technological contributions. Contributions of Africa's Indigenous Knowledge to the Wave of Digital Technology: Decolonial Perspectives offers a comprehensive exploration of Africa's indigenous knowledge and its crucial role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). By taking a decolonial perspective and examining the literature on African Studies, the book aims to shed light on Africa's significant contributions to digital technology. Through a qualitative research design and an exploratory approach, the book will collect and analyze data from secondary sources to showcase Africa's rich technological advancements and history of innovations.
