Synopsis Proclivity by : Bonnie Kern

There is little difference between what a child goes through when they are kidnapped by a sexual predator and what others feel enduring long periods of sexual abuse, secrets and threats at the hands of family and friends. Being totally powerless to make the pain stop is the same. Actually, the betrayal by relatives and friends may be worse because it never ends.

Synopsis Proclivity to Genocide by : Grace O. Okoye

This book examines proclivity to genocide in the protracted killings that have continued for decades in the northern Nigeria ethno-religious conflict, spanning from the 1966 northern Nigeria massacres of thousands of Ibos up to the present, ongoing killings between extremist Muslims and Christians or non-Muslims in the region. It explores the ethnic and religious dimensions of the conflict over five phases to investigate genocidal proclivity to the killings and the extent to which religion foments and escalates the conflict. This book adopts a conceptual analytic approach of establishing similarity of genocidal patterns to the northern Nigeria ethno-religious conflict by examining genocidal occurrences and massacres in history, particularly the twentieth-century contemporary genocides, for an understanding of genocide. With this reference frame, the study structures a Genocide Proclivity Model for identifying inclinations to genocide and derives a substantive theory using the Strauss and Corbin (1990) approach. By identifying genocidal intent as underlying the various manifestations and causes of genocide in specific genocide cases, the book establishes that genocidal proclivity or the intent to exterminate the “other” on the basis of religion and/or ethnicity underlies most of the northern Nigerian episodic, but protracted, killings. The book’s analytic framework and approach are grounded in identifiable and provable evidences of specific intent to annihilate the “other,” mostly involving extremist Muslimsintent to‘cleanse’ northern Nigeria of Christians and other non-Muslims through the ‘exclusionary ideology’ of imposition of the Sharia Law, and to ‘force assimilation’ or ‘extermination’ through massacres and genocidal killings of those who refuse to assimilate or adopt the Muslim ideology. The study establishes that the genocidal inclinations to the conflict have remained latent because of the intermittent but protracted nature of the killings and lends credence to the conception of genocidal intent and its covertness in situations of genocidal intermittency. The book unearths the latency of episodic genocide in the northern Nigeria ethno-religious conflict, prescribes recommendations, and launches a clarion call for international intervention to stop the genocide.

Synopsis The Proclivity of Time by : Darnell Whittington

Where is time taking us? Are we all just waiting in line to die, or is there more to life's story than this? What is time? Where does it go, and where has it been? When did it start, and how shall it all end? Who created time, and for what purpose? Why did time start, and why are our days measured by it? If we reach the end without understanding these things here on the earth, our time and lives will be wasted, and everything we have done will have been done in vain. All of our works and futile efforts will die with us, and we will, in a sense, have failed in our existence. To fulfill our purpose in life, it is imperative that we live with the end in mind. The mastermind behind this concept of time has set everything into motion, and every scene unfolds at His directive. He is the author and producer of this story called life. It is a story of love, failure, repentance, judgement, war, peace, forgiveness, redemption, sacrifice, resurrection, and ultimately reconciliation. It is our story-the human story, and the producer of this story, God, knows exactly where time is taking us and when. 5780-5781 We are now entering a season where time and events are converging. The clock is ticking, and a new day is on the horizon. Everything seems as though it is falling apart, but in fact from God's perspective, everything is coming together for the fulfillment of His plan to restore the Earth and His creation. God has not changed His plan; He just gave it time to develop. The proclivity of time explains the nature and purpose of time, captures unforgettable moments in time for reflection, analyzes controversial truth for where we are at this moment in time, and provides a road map to where time is taking us. After all, time is the thing that keeps us here, and it shall be the thing that takes us away. It is a journey we all must take in order to reach our destination. It is my hope that within these pages, we will come to fully understand time's role in facilitating every aspect of our lives, and how God uses time and seasons to bring His plan for humanity and the Earth together. Darnell Whittington has served as an Educational Administrator for many years in Monroe, Louisiana. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master's degree in Education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Synopsis Analysis of Senior Management Teams that Have Demonstrated a Proclivity for Growth by : David Thomas

This book is a PhD thesis that is highly relevant to anyone involved in management. It identifies and analyses in depth the key constructs of leadership, teamwork and enterprise that are vital for a successful 'growth' business. The focus is on leadership, enterprise and the make-up of senior management teams, but the research outcomes can equally be applied to any management team environment, such as committees, working groups, panels, or administrative bodies. Critically, an unsuitable leader will almost guarantee failure, so having the ability to recognise leaders that are capable of delivering success is crucial. This book is invaluable for those people who need to understand how leadership, teamwork and enterprise interact to create dynamic and highly successful management teams.

Synopsis Doing Business in America by : Hasia R. Diner

American and Jewish historians have long shied away from the topic of Jews and business. Avoidance patterns grew in part from old, often negative stereotypes that linked Jews with money, and the perceived ease and regularity with which they found success with money, condemning Jews for their desires for wealth and their proclivities for turning a profit. A new, dauntless generation of historians, however, realizes that Jewish business has had and continues to have a profound impact on American culture and development, and patterns of immigrant Jewish exploration of business opportunities reflect internal, communal, Jewish-cultural structures and their relationship to the larger non-Jewish world. As such, they see the subject rightly as a vital and underexplored area of study. Doing Business in America: A Jewish History, edited by Hasia R. Diner, rises to the challenge of taking on the long-unspoken taboo subject, comprising leading scholars and exploring an array of key topics in this important and growing area of research.
