Synopsis Symmetries in Science XI by : Bruno Gruber
This book is a collection of reviews and essays about the recent developments in the area of Symmetries and applications of Group Theory. Contributions have been written mostly at the graduate level but some are accessible to advanced undergraduates. The book is of interest to a wide audience and covers a broad range of topics with a strong degree of thematical unity. The book is part of a Series of books on Symmetries in Science and may be compared to the published Proceedings of the Colloquia on Group Theoretical Methods in Physics. Here, however, prevails a distinguished character for presenting extended reviews on present applications to Science, not restricted to Theoretical Physics.

Synopsis Proceedings of the 3rd International Symposium, Quantum Theory and Symmetries by : Philip C. Argyres
The book contains the text of lectures given at the third of a series of biennial symposia in mathematical physics held in odd-numbered years. The subject of the symposium is the frontiers of mathematical physics. It deals with quantum phenomena and includes topics such as string theory and quantum gravity, particle physics and field theory, non-communative geometry, integrable models and infinite dimensional symmetry groups, quantum computing and information processing, and quantum chaos. The proceedings have been selected for coverage in: . OCo Index to Scientific & Technical Proceedings- (ISTP- / ISI Proceedings). OCo Index to Scientific & Technical Proceedings (ISTP CDROM version / ISI Proceedings). OCo CC Proceedings OCo Engineering & Physical Sciences."

Synopsis Material Substructures in Complex Bodies by : Gianfranco Capriz
Stringent industrial requirements of sophisticated performances and of circumstantial control for micro-devices or nanotechnology manufactures, and other types of machinery at multiple scales, can be satisfied often only by resort to or allowance for complex materials. The adjective 'complex' beckons to the fact that the substructure influences gross mechanical behaviour in a prominent way and interactions due to substructural changes are represented directly. The description of the mechanical behaviour of complex bodies proposes a wide class of challenging problems from macroscopic-to-nano-world. The collection of chapters composing this book aims to explore some aspects of these problems, proposing also new matter of discussion together with specific solutions. Contributors are Carlo Cercignani, Gianfranco Capriz, Pierre Degond, Antonio Fasano, Harley T. Johnson, Sukky Jun, Krishna Kannan, Wing Kam Liu, Alberto Mancini, Paolo Maria Mariano, Ingo Müller, Kumbakonan R. Rajagopal, Jan Jerzy Slawianowski. The book can be a useful tool for Scholars and PhD students addressing their research activity toward basic mathematical and physical problems accruing from the mechanics of materials.

Synopsis Classical And Quantum Systems: Foundations And Symmetries - Proceedings Of The 2nd International Wigner Symposium by : Heinz-dietrich Doebner
The Wigner Symposium series is focussed on fundamental problems and new developments in physics and their experimental, theoretical and mathematical aspects. Particular emphasis is given to those topics which have developed from the work of Eugene P Wigner. The 2nd Wigner symposium is centered around notions of symmetry and geometry, the foundations of quantum mechanics, quantum optics and particle physics. Other fields like dynamical systems, neural networks and physics of information are also represented. This volume brings together 19 plenary lectures which survey latest developments and more than 130 contributed research reports.

Synopsis Second International Conference on Algebra by : Leonid Arkadʹevich Bokutʹ
This book contains papers presented at the Second International Conference on Algebra, held in Barnaul in August 1991 in honour of the memory of A. I. Shirshov (1921--1981). Many of the results presented here have not been published elsewhere in the literature. The collection provides a panorama of current research in PI-, associative, Lie, and Jordan algebras and discusses the interrelations of these areas with geometry and physics. Other topics in group theory and homological algebra are also covered.

Synopsis Quantum Theory and Symmetries by : M. B. Paranjape
This volume of the CRM Conference Series is based on a carefully refereed selection of contributions presented at the "11th International Symposium on Quantum Theory and Symmetries", held in Montreal, Canada from July 1-5, 2019. The main objective of the meeting was to share and make accessible new research and recent results in several branches of Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, including Algebraic Methods, Condensed Matter Physics, Cosmology and Gravitation, Integrability, Non-perturbative Quantum Field Theory, Particle Physics, Quantum Computing and Quantum Information Theory, and String/ADS-CFT. There was also a special session in honour of Decio Levi. The volume is divided into sections corresponding to the sessions held during the symposium, allowing the reader to appreciate both the homogeneity and the diversity of mathematical tools that have been applied in these subject areas. Several of the plenary speakers, who are internationally recognized experts in their fields, have contributed reviews of the main topics to complement the original contributions. .
