Excerpt from Proceedings of the American Philosophical Society, Vol. 46: Held at Philadelphia for Promoting Useful Knowledge; January to December, 1907 An invitation was received from the Reale Istituto d'Incoraggiamento di Napoli inviting the Society to be represented at the celebration of the completion of the first centenary of its existence on December 31, 1906. The Secretaries were instructed to express suitably the regret of the Society that the invitation was received too late for the Society to be represented at the celebration. The decease was announced of Alexander J. Cassatt at Philadelphia on December 27, 1906, aet. 67.
