Homeless, traveling in pairs (2 by 2), they spread the new sect worldwide. Followers worshipped only in private homes and the sect took no name. The new sect became exclusive around 1907 when Irvine and his co-workers decided they were the only preachers ordained by God, and their church was God's only right way. Eventually, Irvine and his right-hand man, Edward Cooney, were excommunicated and banished from their church history by damnatio memoriae.
