Cheyenne finds the fabled Seven Stones. Robirda the raven gets the report from one of her many feathered friends, and tells O'gram, the medicine woman. She had been waiting for the One to lead the Five to come along. All her readings pointed to it Shadow masons pluck the wicked thoughts and deeds of mankind out of the swirling eddies that drop down from the tempestuous skies, as bricks for Maletoc, the dark castle. Queen Ru'ala rules the nightmare kingdom with her insignia affixed to her subjects. Demaxium, her high sorcerer watches her drink of the Stygian Font, and wonders if he dares. O'gram teaches Cheyenne how to use the stones, and he is eager to learn. To master the Seven Stones, is to achieve the Golden Crown But, alas, the queen has other plans for the stones. To fulfill the Legend and bring on the Age of Darkness, she will do her part gladly The past is past, but the paths we traveled brought us to where we are now. Right now, I'm at the studio practicing yoga every day (1 and A1/2 years on the summer solstice 2011) and taking more teacher training. My yoga quest began back on 4/14/1988. I hadn't started my practice, yet, but my commitment to search began, then. To achieve the golden crown, after mastering the seven stones is every person's gift. To open the crown chakra, is to open the heavenly reality of our true experience. Once the perceived world of the physical plane is shattered, and everything merges into one, the spiritual self is realized. There really is magic in the world It is how Pact of the Seven Stones begins, and it is inspired by this truth. My 5 year old has started practicing yoga with me. We live together with 3 cats and 3 dogs, aDon't forget Mr. Happy a he reminds me. Our bird, we were calling Mr. Lonely because his mate died, Johnny renamed more appropriately."

Synopsis The Decline and Rise of Democracy by : David Stasavage
"Historical accounts of democracy's rise tend to focus on ancient Greece and pre-Renaissance Europe. The Decline and Rise of Democracy draws from global evidence to show that the story is much richer--democratic practices were present in many places, at many other times, from the Americas before European conquest, to ancient Mesopotamia, to precolonial Africa. Delving into the prevalence of early democracy throughout the world, David Stasavage makes the case that understanding how and where these democracies flourished--and when and why they declined--can provide crucial information not just about the history of governance, but also about the ways modern democracies work and where they could manifest in the future."--

Synopsis 7 Generations by : David A. Robertson
In this national bestseller, David A. Robertson “weaves an engrossing and unforgettable story with the precision of a historian and the colour of a true Indigenous storyteller." (Rosanna Deerchild) 7 Generations: A Plains Cree Saga is an epic, four-part graphic novel. Illustrated in vivid colour, the story follows one Indigenous family over three centuries and seven generations. This compiled edition was originally published as a series of four graphic novels: Stone, Scars, Ends/Begins, and The Pact. Stone introduces Edwin, a young man who must discover his family’s past if he is to have any future. Edwin learns of his ancestor Stone, a young Plains Cree man, who came of age in the early 19th century. When his older brother is tragically killed during a Blackfoot raid, Stone, the best shot and rider in his encampment, must overcome his grief to avenge his brother’s death. In Scars, the story of White Cloud, Edwin's ancestor, is set against the smallpox epidemic of 1870-1871. After witnessing the death of his family one by one, White Cloud must summon the strength to find a new home and deliver himself from the terrible disease. In Ends/Begins, readers learn about the story of Edwin’s father, and his experiences in a residential school. In 1964, two brothers are taken from the warm and loving care of their grandparents, and spirited away to a residential school. When older brother James discovers the anguish that his brother is living under, it leads to unspeakable tragedy. In The Pact, the guilt and loss of James’s residential school experiences follow him into adulthood, and his life spirals out of control. Edwin, mired in his own pain, tries to navigate past the desolation of his fatherless childhood. As James tries to heal himself he begins to realize that, somehow, he must save his son’s life—as well as his own. When father and son finally meet, can they heal their shattered relationship, and themselves, or will it be too late? Synopsis Mythology of the Lenape by : John Bierhorst
The Lenape, or Delaware, are an Eastern Algonquian people who originally lived in what is now the greater New York and Philadelphia metropolitan region and have since been dispersed across North America. While the Lenape have long attracted the attention of historians, ethnographers, and linguists, their oral literature has remained unexamined, and Lenape stories have been scattered and largely unpublished. This catalog of Lenape mythology, featuring synopses of all known Lenape tales, was assembled by folklorist John Bierhorst from historical sources and from material collected by linguists and ethnographersÑa difficult task in light of both the paucity of research done on Lenape mythology and the fragmentation of traditional Lenape culture over the past three centuries. Bierhorst here offers an unprecedented guide to the Lenape corpus with supporting texts. Part one of the "Guide" presents a thematic summary of the folkloric tale types and motifs found throughout the texts; part two presents a synopsis of each of the 218 Lenape narratives on record; part three lists stories of uncertain origin; and part four compares types and motifs occurring in Lenape myths with those found in myths of neighboring Algonquian and Iroquoian cultures. In the "Texts" section of the book, Bierhorst presents previously unpublished stories collected in the early twentieth century by ethnographers M. R. Harrington and Truman Michelson. Included are two versions of the Lenape trickster cycle, narratives accounting for dance origins, Lenape views of Europeans, and tales of such traditional figures as Mother Corn and the little man of the woods called Wemategunis. By gathering every available example of Lenape mythology, Bierhorst has produced a work that will long stand as a definitive reference. Perhaps more important, it restores to the land in which the Lenape once thrived a long-missing piece of its Native literary heritage.
