...I believe the message here for the church is that we need hymns to sing for significant milestones in our lives as individuals and as congregations, hymns that sing of how we are both special and connected. The result is that even though the hymns in this collection were, for the most part, each written for a very particular, present occasion, they also speak of our faith that reaches into both the past and the future, beyond the limits of time and location.
