Synopsis One Hell of a Candidate by : William F. Gavin
One Hell of a Candidate traces the fate of Republican Congressman T. Claude "Buzzer" LeBrand who hails from the Sixth--an imaginary Southern district that has fallen on hard economic times. Poor Buzzer has barely survived his last election when videotape of him frolicking with bikini-clad bimbos in St. Kitts ends up on the evening news. And just as his political career lacks any sort of pulse, Buzzer has a heart attack in a D.C. Metro station, hits his head on the escalator, and falls into a coma. As Buzzer's life hangs in the balance, the machinations to fill his seat in Congress begin. A slew of politically hopeless characters emerge in the battle for Buzzer's seat. Among them are Bobby Diddie Ricky, a handsome black Democrat who is a former pro football star running on the largely inane "Team Concept." "Holy Joe" Wholey who believes the Ten Commandments should be amended into the Constitution. Bo Beaumont, owner/tyrant of Big Bo Stores and Republican kingpin. Susan Weinstein, a Jewish lebsian Marxist down from New York to teach the ignorant people of the Sixth what's best for them. And of course, Buzzer's wife Georgie, who if she can put down the bottle and remember the message, would make one hell of a candidate.

Synopsis The Hell Candidate by : GRAHAM. MASTERTON
I opened my eyes. I wasn't dreaming. I was awake. And right beside me, Jennifer was panting and moaning and bouncing up and down on the bed. I stared harder into the darkness, chilled with fright, and against the dim gray light that filtered in through the closely-drawn drapes, I saw an outline on top of Jennifer that made me cram my hand into my mouth to stop myself from screaming. It was a huge, bulky outline, as dark as sin. But its eyes glowed slanted and orange, like the eyes of a wolf, and on its head were two curved horns. It stank of stale incense and animal sweat, and it was grunting with grotesque delight. When businessman Hunter Peal decided to run for President of the USA, they said he didn't have a chance in Hell ... but they were wrong. Initially he seemed pleasant and moderate ... but then everything started to change. As his popularity grew, so did his ability to influence people, sending them weeping to their knees, and seeing sights which no cameras could capture. And what of his opponents and the strange 'accidents' which befel them? Indeed, Hunter Peal was not the man he once was ... one of the denizens of Hell has made a pact with him, and on his inauguration, all Hell will be let loose. Literally. Telos Publishing is proud to present a superb new edition of this long out-of-print 1981 novel. A horrific tale of lust and greed and power from one of the genre's greatest writers, Graham Masterton. 'If you like horror novels, the kind that make you catch your breath at certain parts, can change your perception of the temperature in the room and leave you with impressions that can't be unseen for days - if ever - then this is your book. It really is an absolute masterpiece and in my opinion one of the weirdest, most twisted horror tales ever told, where the message, "Be careful who you vote for" really makes a hell of a lot of sense.' Synopsis How the Hell Did This Happen? by : P. J. O'Rourke
The iconic humorist offers his take on the stranger-than-fiction (and stranger-than-fact) 2016 presidential election and its equally unbelievable aftermath. The 2016 election cycle was so absurd that celebrated political satirist, journalist, and die-hard Republican P. J. O’Rourke endorsed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. As P. J. put it, “America is experiencing the most severe outbreak of mass psychosis since the Salem witch trials of 1692. So why not put Hillary on the dunking stool?” In How the Hell Did This Happen?, P. J. brings his critical eye and inimitable voice to some seriously risky business. Starting in June 2015, he asks, “Who are these jacklegs, high-binders, wire-pullers, mountebanks, swellheads, buncombe spigots, four-flushers and animated spittoons offering themselves as worthy of America’s highest office?” and surveys the full cast of presidential candidates including everyone you’ve already forgotten and everyone you wish you could forget. P. J. offers a brief history of how our insane process for picking who will run for president evolved, from the very first nominating convention (thanks, Anti-Masonic Party) through the reforms of the Progressive era (because there’s nothing that can’t be worsened by reform) to the present. He takes us through the debates and key primaries and analyzes everything from the campaign platforms (or lack thereof) to presidential style (“Trump’s appearance—indeed, Trump’s existence—is a little guy’s idea of living large. A private plane! A swell joint in Florida! Gold-plated toilet handles!”). And he rises from the depths of despair to come up with a better way to choose a president. Following his come-to-Satan moment with Hillary and the Beginning of End Times in November, P. J. reckons with a new age: “America is experiencing a change in the nature of leadership. We’re getting rid of our leaders. And we’re starting at the top.” “Where are we going? Where have we been? P. J. O’Rourke casts his gimlet gaze on the circus of clowns-people foisted on us by the 2016 election—and demands to know How the Hell Did This Happen?” —Vanity Fair

Synopsis Money in Politics by : Cayce Myers
Money in Politics: Campaign Fundraising in the 2020 Presidential Election illustrates political fundraising’s importance in the 2020 presidential election from the party primaries through the General Election. Cayce Myers addresses how the role of corporate donations, individual contributors, and small donorship have become political talking points. Specific attention is given to the evolution of political fundraising, including a discussion regarding super-PACs, joint fundraising committees, and campaign committees. Myers explores how modern fundraising prowess serves as a barrier to successful entry into top tier candidacy but does not necessarily guarantee victory.

Synopsis The Election by : Darryl Greer
Aust'n. Suspense fiction. Some time soon, Queen Elizabeth II narrowly escapes a terrorist bombing and abdicates in favour of Prince Charles. Following his coronation, the Australian pro-republican movement renews its call for a referendum on the monarchy. This time, they succeed and attention is turned to the election of the country's first president. Australian-born Michael Takada, whose father is Japanese, wins selection for Queensland, and represents his state in the presidential election. But there are many who, for racially motivated reasons, are intent on preventing him reaching public office - including the Western Australian candidate, David Shawcross. When Takada and Shawcross become the main contenders for the presidency, Takada is targeted by a fanatical but disorganised right wing organisation and later, by a small but sophisticated white supremacist terrorist group. He suffers racist taunts, hate mail, his son's kidnapping, bombings, the attempted murder of his father and his wife and the murders of close friends. As the election nears, his political aspirations are soured by the uncovering by a young reporter of an atrocity committed by his grandfather on the Kokoda Trail in 1942. Shawcross is an equally popular candidate but is tormented from within, his racist views, hard drinking and womanising almost costing him his earlier political career. Despite their roller coaster ride, they are equally determined to be the country's first president. When racism is allowed to get out of control, it can wreak havoc, even in one of the world's most politically stable nations.

Synopsis California After Arnold by : Stephen D. Cummings
Much has been written, and will surely be written, on California politics, but no other work will contain such a comprehensive collection of demographic and politics data, relying on actual election returns,Census data and exit polls, as the attached charts and proposal indicate. The book will illustrate how Democrats and Republicans have won, the different strategies they have used and why. The book will look at the prospective candidates in 2010 and also at the long-term prospects of both parties and various ethnic and interest groups.

Synopsis Primary Candidates by : Mike Sutton
Three politicians jockey for position in the early part of 2008. Senator Robert Fox has already secured his party's nomination, but Senators Jeannette Freddo Reynolds and Thaddeus Tasman are locked in a dogfight for theirs. A load of highly dangerous weapons is in transit from the Arizona manufacturer to Fort Hood, Texas. A very sophisticated hijack plot interrupts their journey and the President, his Cabinet, and the U.S. military have to figure out how to get them out of the wrong hands. Early in his first of three tours in Vietnam, Detective Hunter Morgan learned never to say the following: "Well, things can't get any worse than this!" They can and do when a sniper starts shooting in Baltimore. Railroad catastrophes take place on both sides of the country and terrorists strike two major American airports, driving the elections news into the background temporarily, until one of the primary candidates turns up missing . . . last seen with a Secret Service Agent.
