Synopsis Once You Cross That Line by : Leigh Donnelly
On a whim, Kristi quit her loathed job as a teacher and she couldn't be happier. Her soon-to-be fiance, however, is shocked. The abrupt career change, on top of their rocky relationship, is too much and he moves out the next day. When Kristi calls her best friend for support, she says she's done with Kristi's selfish ways, too. Luckily, things start looking up when Kristi gets a part-time gig as a hostess alongside a hot, charismatic young waiter named Ethan. Even though the attraction between them is immediate and intense, Kristi is still nursing a broken heart, and Ethan happens to be a former student which lands him firmly in the friend zone with Kristi. But one sultry summer night flirting crosses the line into something more than just friends, and Kristi's life starts unraveling again as past secrets and betrayals begin to surface. Now she has the summer to decide if she's going to repair what's left of her past, or embrace an unknown future with Ethan.

Synopsis STROKE by : Alfred C. Chu
Stroke: Recovering from Human Errors By: Alfred C. Chu Alfred C. Chu suffered a stroke when he was 28 years old. Not many people suffer a stroke at such a young age and not many live to tell their story. The causes were a combination of a skin condition he was born with called Psoriasis, a virus he contracted called “superbug”, and the medication Cyclosporine. Enclosed are the memories of his tragic experience that includes knowledge he gained about the human body, certain medications, diet, exercise, and his outlook towards life before and during this experience. Along with his stroke were two life threatening comas. The first coma lasted for three weeks and the second lasted one week. Included with his stroke were over a dozen surgeries on various parts in his body, most of which were in the area around his left hip joint. What makes his story even more tragic is that not all people who suffer a stroke require surgery. All these surgeries have confined him to a wheelchair, but there's still the possibility of him walking slowly with a leg brace, a cane, a walker, or crutches. If it's possible, he is not going to give up. As of December 2019, he’s living in Taiwan for medical treatment and physical therapy.

Synopsis Of Embers' Ashes by : Thomas M. Tukesbrey
‘Of Embers’ Ashes’ is a modern day ‘thief at the cross’ story of restoration, forgiveness and redemption: The week started off typical for Mick Shorlan, regrets of his past and family tragedies that had consumed him for years filled his thoughts, he took the time to search out and harass a street evangelist, standards for the bitter, egocentric and self centered man he had become. Yet this week would prove to be the most critical for him, when a series of events confront him with himself, his attitudes, perspectives and who he is at the core of his very being. Orchestrated by the Creator, the changes Mick undergoes in a week’s time, especially concerning forgiveness, transform him, in preparation for the not so Hollywood, happy ending.

Synopsis Recovery Despite Rehab by : Skyler Pennington
Based on true events, I offer details of my own life, my struggles with mental illness, substance abuse, and recovery. Offered is a unique perspective of America’s broken mental healthcare system and the cruel treatment of patients dealing with addiction, providing real solutions supported by research. America’s fragmented mental healthcare system and treatment of addiction promotes an outdated cure that is often far worse than the disease it supposedly treats. This is a treatment that exacerbates addictive behaviors, mental illness, and increases average substance misuse. If mental illness and addictive behaviors are to be combatted, reduced, or eliminated, the core foundation of societal values, as well as beliefs about addiction recovery and our mental health ecosystem, must be rebuilt from the ground up.

Synopsis American Thighs by : Jill Conner Browne
"If I can save one woman from these thighs, I will not have lived in vain," #1 New York Times bestselling humorist Jill Conner Browne writes in American Thighs, her handbook and memoir for the Hot and Flashy. Whether young enough to look "hot" or of the age to only feel that way (in flashes with buckets of sweat), every woman has given, or will give, ample thought to preserving her best "assets" (thighs included), so that the dread transition from "cute girl" to "ma'am" won't be quite so unsettling. Here are stories of growing up and learning about life -- usually the hard way! From disastrous haircuts and color jobs to fashion or verbal faux pas committed, from the kiss wished for but never gotten to the one that should have been skipped, these are the moments that mark each of our journeys from what we thought back then to what we now know. Since to say that Youth is wasted on the Young has got to be the understatement of all time, it falls upon Browne, as one older and wiser, to take a "Hit and Run" down Memory Lane for the sake of offering "Asset-Preserving Tips," with astonishing disclosures about: Why women have risked their lives just to get a little bit blonder How the muumuu has been fashionably resurrected as the "patio dress" Why it's important to always have a good photo of yourself on hand -- just in case How, no matter what skin you're in, to make it last a lifetime Why you can never trust anyone over eighty-five
