Synopsis The Herald by : Riain Fox
What does an interdimensional entity do when he arrives on the mortal plane? Start a family, of course! After eons, the herald of Ygg-hatep has finally arrived. He has but one task: to create a vessel strong enough to hold his master's eldritch power. In other words, make a baby. For an interdimensional entity who has seen the birth and collapse of countless stars, that should be easy enough...right? Unfortunately, it turns out mortal women aren't equipped to gestate a baby with the power to crack a planet in half. Then, he meets Evie. He doesn't understand what's different about her, but one thing is certain: she's his only chance to fulfill his duty. The only problem is Evie's best friend, Lily. A brilliant investigative journalist, Lily is driven, fiercely loyal, and hell-bent on keeping Evie away from him. Lily doesn’t trust him, especially when she begins to suspect he’s guilty of much more than scheming to take Evie away from her. Welcome to the Eldritch Affair, a Lovecraftian-inspired* series where terror and love, ecstasy and death are intertwined. *All of the horror, with none of the racism/misogyny! Contains adult content: graphic violence and explicit sex scenes.

Synopsis The Adventures of Ozzie Nelson by : John R. Holmes
When Ozzie Nelson died in 1975, he was no longer a household name. For a guy who had created the longest-running TV sitcom in history, invented the rock video, and fronted one of the most successful big bands of the 1930s, it's baffling that Nelson has faded so far from American media memory. Larger than life offscreen--an attorney, college football star, cartoonist, songwriter, major band leader--Ozzie created a smaller-than-life TV persona, the bumbling average Dad who became known to the rock generation (which included his teen idol son Rick Nelson) as the essence of blandness. But America also saw Ozzie as their iconic Dad: not a "father knows best," since his pontifications usually proved flawed by the end of each episode, but the father who tried his best. This book is the only full-length biography of Ozzie Nelson since he published his memoirs in 1973. It treats the big band and early TV icon with affection and hints that American pop culture may owe more to Ozzie than is generally acknowledged.

Synopsis Nelson's Letters to Lady Hamilton and Related Documents by : Marianne Czisnik
This critical edition of Admiral Nelson’s letters to Lady Hamilton is to bring together the important letters of Nelson to Lady Hamilton that have only been published in parts over the last 200 years. Only by bringing the letters of Nelson to Lady Hamilton together is it possible to assess their relationship and to present certain insights into Nelson’s personality that are not revealed in his official correspondence. Thorough research into this side of Nelson’s personality and into the nature of his notorious and unconventional relationship with Lady Hamilton has been hampered in the past by a desire not to look too closely at Nelson’s personal morality. To a considerable extent their relationship was regarded as a challenge to traditional gender roles and it indeed did not conform to stereotypes that are usually attributed to men and women in a heterosexual relationship. Lady Hamilton was so obviously lacking in the subservience and passivity expected from women in that era that authors over the course of time started to exclude her in their accounts of the public sphere by reducing her to a private weakness of Nelson’s, who could be successful at sea, where he was far away from the enthralling influence of a manipulating woman. The letters in this edition testify how Admiral Nelson’s life at sea was not exclusively public nor was Lady Hamilton’s life ashore solely private. It also shows how the two supposedly separate spheres of male and female lives were connected. A fresh approach and a thorough discussion of this important and neglected aspect not only of Nelson’s life, but of gender history, demands this exact and scholarly edition of the primary material, which consists of about 400 letters that Nelson wrote to Lady Hamilton over the course of the last seven years of his life and about a dozen letters of her to him that have survived.

Synopsis Heck: Where the Bad Kids Go by : Dale E. Basye
When Milton and Marlo Fauster die in a marshmallow-bear explosion, they get sent straight to Heck, an otherworldly reform school. Milton can understand why his kleptomaniac sister is here, but Milton is—or was—a model citizen. Has a mistake been made? Not according to Bea “Elsa” Bubb, the Principal of Darkness. She doesn’t make mistakes. She personally sees to it that Heck—whether it be home ec class with Lizzie Borden, ethics with Richard Nixon, or gym with Blackbeard the pirate—is especially, well, heckish for the Fausters. Will Milton and Marlo find a way to escape? Or are they stuck here for all eternity, or until they turn eighteen, whichever comes first? ★ “The author’ umpteen clever allusions . . . make this book truly sparkle.”—Publishers Weekly, Starred
