Synopsis My Puzzle Pieces in Poetry by : Donny Layman
This book is not simply poetry but a collection of works from various times in my life. The book is very revealing as an inward voice of what was occurring at any particular time and place. It expresses the timeless pain from childhood loss to the later coming of age in not the best of circumstances. It's my way of telling a story in snippets of time. These are words of expression from an often colored and sometimes troubled past. It is the authors hope that one can see in the writing that love does win out, and the worst of circumstances can become something thought provoking and meaningful. These are truly pieces of my puzzle in poetry.

Synopsis The Missing Piece by : Shel Silverstein
It was missing a piece. And it was not happy. So it set off in search of its missing piece. And as it rolled it sang this song -Oh I'm lookin' for my missin' piece I'm lookin' for my missin' piece Hi-dee-ho, here I go, Lookin' for my missin' piece. What it finds on its search for the missing piece is simply and touchingly told in this fable that gently probes the nature of quest and fulfillment.

Synopsis The Puzzle of Poetry by : John Marsh
The Puzzle of Poetry offers students a readable, reliable guide to understanding poetry. Instead of carving poems up into their elements, The Puzzle of Poetry describes how experienced readers of poems go about understanding them. Each line, sentence, or syntactical unit in a poem is a clue to the “puzzle.” As with crossword puzzles, figuring out the answer to one clue can help you figure out the answer to others. This book teaches the reader to check what they know in a poem against what else they know to find meaning, a systematic but creative approach that can help language to come alive. Each chapter contains a lively and personal discussion of one part of the art of reading poetry; a short guide to writing about poetry is also included. The book introduces students to a variety of poems, from Anglo-Saxon verse to Hamilton and Jay-Z.

Synopsis Inspiring Poems From My Soul by : Will Shelton
Right away, you can imagine why I love to go to this “Special Place”. Again, imagine the sheer joy of journeying to your soul, where God will always be there to inspire you. 1 Corinthians 3:16 states, “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” This is a Soul to Soul meeting, which makes each moment special and rewarding. It’s like the flickering of a butterfly’s wings to the wonders of our Milky Way Galaxy. Every time I read the Poetry of other Poets from the past to present, it’s a Soul to Soul experience. Poets take me to special places in my mind and soul, with no boundaries. It’s limitless. Yes, it’s a freedom to search the universe for true meanings to life’s array of humanistic experiences. Poetry embraces all the myriad of human emotions from extreme sadness to heavenly bliss. Art does imitate and reflect life in the most beautiful ways. Yes, I’m eclectic in my poetry style, to enhance my love of poetry. Keywords: Poetry, Spiritual, Uplifting, Eclectic

Synopsis Emerge: Poems from My Soul by : Kassi Ydris
Within each of us, there is a spark, a light in our souls that never dies. It is the gift that is divine, which God has given us. It takes the form of art, math, teaching, writing, poetry, counseling, and something magical. The darkness of the world and the illusions of technology have distracted us with their illusions and images of who we are not, instead of helping us find the light inside ourselves, which is the gift from God. I wanted to write a series of poems that encourage others to find the light in their souls and, in the process, be happy doing what they are supposed to be doing and being who they are meant to be instead of wasting their lives away, trying to please others and the images of who others want them to be. Within each of us, there is a spark of the divinethe soul, your light. We need you to find the light within yourself so you can shine with your light and make the world a less dark and a happier place. This is my soul, and these are my words. Synopsis The Slip by : Kary Wayson
Poetry. "Kary Wayson entrusts her whole art to the ludic music of language, seeking its way, syllable by syllable, phrase by sprightly turn of phrase, through way stations of feeling. She is funny and devastated and electrifying at every turn: '...he held down my knot / with a finger in the center the / better to tie my bow--;' 'I've followed my thinking like a man out driving / --and just back there he missed the turn.' These poems make me laugh out loud and blink back sudden tears. Mostly, though, they leave me slack-jawed at their lexical, logical, and wildly various tonal grace. For anyone seeking to survive primal loss and keep singing, Kary Wayson shows the way."--Suzanne Buffam

Synopsis When You Thought I Wasn't Looking by : Mary Korzan
Mary Rita Schilke Korzan wrote a poem to her mother 24 years ago, thanking her for all she had done as a mother, friend, and role model. She gave the poem to her mother and, a few months later, offered it as a tribute when Mary and her husband were married. So many wedding guests asked for a copy that Mary included one in her thank-you notes. Then began the strange and heartwarming journey of Mary's poem to her mom. Friends passed it on to those they knew. A minister in her hometown couldn't recall who gave it to him, but he included the by-then "anonymously written" poem in his book about loving others. Another author picked it up from there for her compilation of heartfelt works, and Mary finally noticed her poem, now listed as "Author Unknown," in A Fourth Course of Chicken Soup for the Soul, which her husband and children gave her as a Mother's Day gift. With this new book, readers have the chance to experience When You Thought I Wasn't Looking in its entirety and from its creator. This is the special kind of book that reminds us that sometimes the little things we do "just because" mean more to someone than we can ever know. Those little things teach love, compassion, and understanding. In other words, they're priceless. This sweet gift book brings that lesson home to the heart.

Synopsis Love Poems To A Poet: 111 Poems Of Eternal Love, Passion and Desire by : Leila Ziari
Leila Ziari’s first collection of poetry invites readers into a world of transformative love. Dedicated to and inspired by Bob Dylan, these one hundred and eleven poems reveal the bliss, pain, expansion, longing and ecstasy of eternal love. Earthly and ethereal, timely and timeless. Just as Ziari chronicles her own metamorphosis, she invites the reader to be inspired, uplifted, healed, and renewed. Through her bold confession of passionate devotion, Ziari dissects the very essence of love and the whirlwind of emotions therein. It is her vulnerability that allow for such immersion, reminding readers that those we love are part of our spirits and have been embedded in our souls since the beginning of time. While she hints at deep scars, this poet never wallows. Her transcendent poetry reaches beyond. Ziari shows us what we know but so often forget - the evolutionary and revolutionary power of love.
