This book is not simply poetry but a collection of works from various times in my life. The book is very revealing as an inward voice of what was occurring at any particular time and place. It expresses the timeless pain from childhood loss to the later coming of age in not the best of circumstances. It's my way of telling a story in snippets of time. These are words of expression from an often colored and sometimes troubled past. It is the authors hope that one can see in the writing that love does win out, and the worst of circumstances can become something thought provoking and meaningful. These are truly pieces of my puzzle in poetry.

Right away, you can imagine why I love to go to this “Special Place”. Again, imagine the sheer joy of journeying to your soul, where God will always be there to inspire you. 1 Corinthians 3:16 states, “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” This is a Soul to Soul meeting, which makes each moment special and rewarding. It’s like the flickering of a butterfly’s wings to the wonders of our Milky Way Galaxy. Every time I read the Poetry of other Poets from the past to present, it’s a Soul to Soul experience. Poets take me to special places in my mind and soul, with no boundaries. It’s limitless. Yes, it’s a freedom to search the universe for true meanings to life’s array of humanistic experiences. Poetry embraces all the myriad of human emotions from extreme sadness to heavenly bliss. Art does imitate and reflect life in the most beautiful ways. Within each of us, there is a spark, a light in our souls that never dies. It is the gift that is divine, which God has given us. It takes the form of art, math, teaching, writing, poetry, counseling, and something magical. The darkness of the world and the illusions of technology have distracted us with their illusions and images of who we are not, instead of helping us find the light inside ourselves, which is the gift from God. I wanted to write a series of poems that encourage others to find the light in their souls and, in the process, be happy doing what they are supposed to be doing and being who they are meant to be instead of wasting their lives away, trying to please others and the images of who others want them to be. Within each of us, there is a spark of the divinethe soul, your light. We need you to find the light within yourself so you can shine with your light and make the world a less dark and a happier place. This is my soul, and these are my words.
