Synopsis Measurement of Long-range Near-side Two-particle Angular Correlations in Pp Collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ by :
Our results on two-particle angular correlations for charged particles produced in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV are presented. The data were taken with the CMS detector at the LHC and correspond to an integrated luminosity of about 270 nb-1. The correlations are studied over a broad range of pseudorapidity).

Synopsis Insight Into Particle Production Mechanisms Via Angular Correlations of Identified Particles in Pp Collisions at √s by : Jaroslav Adam
Two-particle angular correlations were measured in pp collisions at s√=7 TeV for pions, kaons, protons, and lambdas, for all particle/anti-particle combinations in the pair. Data for mesons exhibit an expected peak dominated by effects associated with mini-jets and are well reproduced by general purpose Monte Carlo generators. However, for baryon-baryon and anti-baryon-anti-baryon pairs, where both particles have the same baryon number, a near-side anti-correlation structure is observed instead of a peak. This effect is interpreted in the context of baryon production mechanisms in the fragmentation process. It currently presents a challenge to Monte Carlo models and its origin remains an open question.

Synopsis Pseudorapidity Dependence of Long-range Two-particle Correlations in $p$Pb Collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} by :
Two-particle correlations in pPb collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV are studied as a function of the pseudorapidity separation (Delta eta) of the particle pair at small relative azimuthal angle (abs(Delta phi)

Synopsis Charged Particle Transverse Momentum Spectra in Pp Collisions at Sqrt(s) by :
The charged particle transverse momentum (pT) spectra are presented for pp collisions at sqrt(s)=0.9 and 7 TeV. The data samples were collected with the CMS detector at the LHC and correspond to integrated luminosities of 231 inverse microbarns and 2.96 inverse picobarns, respectively. Calorimeter-based high-transverse-energy triggers are employed to enhance the statistical reach of the high-pT measurements. The results are compared with both leading-order QCD and with an empirical scaling of measurements at different collision energies using the scaling variable xT = 2 pT/sqrt(s) over the pT range up to 200 GeV/c. Using a combination of xT scaling and direct interpolation at fixed pT, a reference transverse momentum spectrum at sqrt(s)=2.76 TeV is constructed, which can be used for studying high-pT particle suppression in the dense QCD medium produced in heavy-ion collisions at that centre-of-mass energy.

Synopsis Measurements of Di-jet Π0-h± Correlations in Light-heavy Ion Collisions at RHIC-PHENIX by : Abinash Pun
The possible presence of Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP), the new state of matter created at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Au+Au and Pb+Pb collisions, is currently under investigation for smaller collisions systems such as light-heavy ions and even p+p. Long range angular correlations of particles produced in p+Pb, p+Au, d+Au, and 3He+Au, show evidence of QGP collective flow, but another signature, QGP-induced jet energy loss effects has not been identified. To address this situation, in this dissertation, a recently introduced observable RI is employed in light-heavy ion collisions. RI is derived from two-particle correlation method commonly used to study jet modification from energy loss in Au+Au.

Synopsis Multiple Parton Interactions At The Lhc by : Paolo Bartalini
Many high-energy collider experiments (including the current Large Hadron Collider at CERN) involve the collision of hadrons. Hadrons are composite particles consisting of partons (quarks and gluons), and this means that in any hadron-hadron collision there will typically be multiple collisions of the constituents — i.e. multiple parton interactions (MPI). Understanding the nature of the MPI is important in terms of searching for new physics in the products of the scatters, and also in its own right to gain a greater understanding of hadron structure. This book aims at providing a pedagogical introduction and a comprehensive review of different research lines linked by an involvement of MPI phenomena. It is written by pioneers as well as young leading scientists, and reviews both experimental findings and theoretical developments, discussing also the remaining open issues.

Synopsis Relativistic Heavy-ion Collisions by : Rudolph C. Hwa
Papers of the June 1989 meeting in Beijing by the China Center of Advanced Science and Technology. This small book covers nucleus- nucleus collisions, states of the vacuum, and highly relativistic heavy ions in the experimental realm. Theoretical papers deal with quark-gluon plasma, and relativistic heavy ion collisions. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
