A new measurement of the inclusive and differential production cross sections of J/[psi] mesons and b-hadrons in proton-antiproton collisions at √s = 1960 GeV is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 39.7 pb−1 collected by the CDF Run II detector. The ratio of the production cross sections times branching fractions ([sigma](Bc") B(Bc" 2!J/[psi][pi]"))/([sigma](B") B(B" 2!J/[psi]K") is studied in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. The kinematic region investigated requires Ba, sub>c" and B"mesons with transverse momentum p[tau]> 15 GeV and rapidity.

Synopsis Inclusive B-hadron Production Cross Section with Muons in Pp Collisions at Sqrt(s) by :

A measurement of the b-hadron production cross section in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV is presented. The dataset, corresponding to 85 inverse nanobarns, was recorded with the CMS experiment at the LHC using a low-threshold single-muon trigger. Events are selected by the presence of a muon with transverse momentum greater than 6 GeV with respect to the beam direction and pseudorapidity less than 2.1. The transverse momentum of the muon with respect to the closest jet discriminates events containing b hadrons from background. The inclusive b-hadron production cross section is presented as a function of muon transverse momentum and pseudorapidity. The measured total cross section in the kinematic acceptance is sigma(pp to b+X to mu + X') =1.32 +/- 0.01 (stat) +/- 0.30 (syst) +/- 0.15 (lumi) microbarns.

This paper presents a direct measurement of the differential[ital B][sup+] and[ital B][sup 0] cross sections, [ital d[sigma]/dp[sub T]] in[ital p][ital[anti p]] collisions at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV using a sample of 74[ital pb][sup -1] accumulated by the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF). The cross sections are measured in the central pseudorapidity region[vert-bar][eta][vert-bar][lt] 1 for[ital p[sub T]]([ital B])[gt] 6.0 GeV/c by fully reconstructing the[ital B] meson decays[ital B][sup+][r-arrow][ital J/[psi]K[sup+]] and[ital B][sup 0][r-arrow][ital J/[psi]K[sup*0]](892), where[ital J/[psi]][r-arrow][mu][sup+][mu][sup -] and[ital K][sup*0][r-arrow][ital K][sup+][pi][sup -]. The prediction of next-to- leading order QCD is consistent with the shape of the differential cross section but is low by a factor of 2.1[+-]0.2[+-]0.3. The integrated[ital B] meson cross section for[ital p[sub T]]([ital B])[gt] 6.0 GeV/c is determined to be[sigma]([ital B][sup -]= 3. 54[+-]0.22[+-]0.53[mu][ital b].

Synopsis Multiquark Hadrons by : Ahmed Ali

This work summarises the salient features of current and planned experiments into multiquark hadrons, describing various inroads to accommodate them within a theoretical framework. At a pedagogical level, authors review the salient aspects of quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the theory of strong interactions, which has been brought to the fore by high-energy physics experiments over recent decades. Compact diquarks as building blocks of a new spectroscopy are presented and confronted with alternative explanations of the XYZ resonances. Ways to distinguish among theoretical alternatives are illustrated, to be tested with the help of high luminosity LHC, electron-positron colliders, and the proposed Tera-Z colliders. Non-perturbative treatments of multiquark hadrons, such as large N expansion, lattice QCD simulations, and predictions about doubly heavy multiquarks are reviewed in considerable detail. With a broad appeal across high-energy physics, this work is pertinent to researchers focused on experiments, phenomenology or lattice QCD.
