In this highly anticipated sequel, Maya and the godlings must return to the sinister world of The Dark to retrieve the one thing keeping the veil between the worlds from crumbling: her father's soul. Perfect for fans of Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky and Willa of the Wood. The threat from The Dark is far from over. Twelve-year-old Maya knows this. After crossing the veil between the two worlds, saving her father, and narrowly escaping the sinister clutches of the Lord of Shadows, tensions between the human world and The Dark are higher than ever. And even worse, Maya's orisha powers as a godling are out of control. Now a guardian in training, Maya spends her days patching up veils with her father and cleaning up near-disasters like baby wormholes that her erratic powers create. But when Maya and her friends discover that something went terribly wrong during their journey to bring her father back to the human world, they are forced to return to The Dark and restore what they left behind, the one thing keeping the veil from falling: her father's soul. The Lord of Shadows is mobilizing his forces for an all-out war against the human world. And this time, Maya and her friends will need all the help they can get. Even if that means teaming up with their greatest enemies, the darkbringers.

Synopsis Maya Christians and Their Churches in Sixteenth-Century Belize by : Elizabeth Graham
It is widely held that Christianity came to Belize as an extension of the conquest of Yucatan and that adherence to Christian belief and practice was abandoned in the absence of enduring Spanish authority. An alternative view comes from the excavations of Maya churches at Tipu and Lamanai, which show that the dead were buried in Christian churchyards long after the churches themselves fell into disuse, and pre-Columbian ritual objects were cached in Christian sacred spaces both during and after Spanish occupation. Excavations also reveal that the architectural style of these early churches is Franciscan in inspiration but nonetheless the product of continuing community efforts at construction and repair. A conclusion difficult to ignore is that the Maya of Tipu and Lamanai considered themselves Christians with or without Spanish presence. Viewing historical and archaeological data through the lens of her personal experience of Roman Catholicism, and informed by feminist approaches, Elizabeth Graham assesses the concept of religion, the significance of doctrine, the empowerment of the individual, and the process of conversion by examining the meanings attributed to ideas, objects and images by the Maya, by Iberian Christians, and by archaeologists. Graham’s provocative study also makes the case that the impact of Christianity in Belize was a phenomenon that uniquely shaped the development of the modern nation. A volume in the series Maya Studies, edited by Diane Z. Chase and Arlen F. Chase

Synopsis Nectar #1 by : Babaji Bob Kindler
In this first issue of “Nectar,” the Universal Mother’s transcendent wisdom, we offer articles on Vedanta, on Sufi Meditation, and teachings from the Tantric Wisdom of Mother India. There is an article on Nondual Judaism focused on Jewish spiritual practice, and of course the “Wisdom Facets from the Gem of Truth,” teachings from our SRV ideal — Sarada, Ramakrishna and Vivekananda — whose matchless love and wisdom will grace every future issue. In all these articles, indivisible unity, called Advaita or nondualism, is greatly emphasized. This is one of the aims of our SRV journal, to show that all practice along the spiritual path can and should be undertaken with the fore-knowledge of our essential oneness with God. As my guru used to tell me, “Grace and self-effort must go hand in hand.” Human beings are expressions of God, pure and perfect by nature, but the mind needs to know this. This knowing is called Enlightenment, Illumination, Liberation or Self-realization and cannot be feigned, nor can the integrity of the path leading to It be compromised.

Synopsis The Acts of the Apostle Thomas by : Prof.M.M. Ninan
This is the story of Apostle Thomas - the doubting Thomas - who dared to ask the evidence for the resurrection to believe. Jesus was only glad to provide that. Once satisfied, he became the first to proclaim that Jesus indeed was God, by shouting ""My Lord, and My God"" In the fullest sense, Thomas was the first Christian. His ministry was essentially in Parthia (including Yemen), China and India. He was martyred in Mylapore, Chennai. He came to Kerala in AD 52. This is his story which was handed down to us from our fore fathers for over 2000 years. Come and touch Jesus and believe.
