Synopsis Below the Surface by : Tim Shoemaker
Something is wrong with Cooper. He’s plagued by a fear he doesn’t understand and can’t control. Cooper just wants to escape, and a summer vacation aboard the restored cabin cruiser, The Getaway, with best friends Gordy, Hiro, and Lunk seems like the perfect way to do it. Two weeks of fun—with no mysteries or life-and-death danger. That’s the plan. But their plans are shattered the very first night when they witness a murder. Or did they? Despite their intentions of leaving the investigation to the police, narrow misses and creepy encounters lure them in. Is there really a body floating in the underwater currents of the lake? The closer they get to the truth, the deeper into danger they get. Too late they see the trap. Now each of them must face their own buried fears . . . just below the surface.

Synopsis The Intuitive Way by : Penney Peirce
Penney Peirce—bestselling author and renowned intuitive and visionary—shows you how to trust and develop your intuition to an advanced degree. Intuition is the skill of the future, and it will absolutely give you an advantage in whatever you do. As the first book in Peirce’s groundbreaking Transformation series, The Intuitive Way shows how intuition is an innate human capacity that can easily be enhanced and developed. Synthesizing insights from psychology, East-West philosophy, religion, metaphysics, and business, this hands-on workbook in the tradition of Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way can teach anyone to achieve a heightened state of perceptual accuracy and apply it to daily life. Intuition, writes Penney Peirce, is “not the opposite of logic,” but rather “a comprehensive way of knowing life that includes both left-brain analytical thinking and right-brain direct-knowing states.” On a practical level, intuition helps you learn faster and make more inspired decisions. On a deeper level, it “is a powerful tool that can heal the painful split we all feel between our earthly, mundane selves and our divine, eternal selves.” Widely praised and highly popular, The Intuitive Way, with a foreword by Carol Adrienne, continues to bring Penney Peirce’s pioneering work to new generations of people who want a comprehensive course on this most valuable skill.

Synopsis The Broken House by : Dr. Lindsay Evans-Mitchell M.D. J.D.
How does a psychiatrist cope with trauma when a failed marriage results in severe depression and anxiety? It’s not often that the emotional experience of mental health professionals, who—like their patients—are fighting to find answers for their own healing and wholeness, can be explored. It can be hard to accept that sometimes even therapists, need therapy. This book explores what it’s like to have the tools to build a stable structure, but all that still develops is a broken house. After counseling college students and treating thousands of patients in psychiatry, the authors (a husband-and-wife team) found that their marital counseling ministry was more successful when empathetic transparency about their own mistakes and failures was given. Instead of using hammers, drills, screws, and nails, this couple had to learn to use techniques that tear down walls and expose the true condition of a damaged relationship. Embark on a journey with the “Chip and Joanna of marital counseling” as they reveal how a dilapidated house in foreclosure helped them start the renovation process on a marriage that was broken, and in disrepair. If you’re in a relationship that feels hopeless and are wondering if a seemingly bad investment has any real value, you’ll discover valuable lessons in this amazing story.

Synopsis The Mountaineer Site by : Brian N. Andrews
The Mountaineer Site presents over a decade’s worth of archaeological research conducted at Mountaineer, a Paleoindian campsite in Colorado’s Upper Gunnison Basin. Mountaineer is one of the very few extensively excavated, long-term Folsom occupations with evidence of built structures. The site provides a rich record of stone tool manufacture and use, as well as architectural features, and offers insight into Folsom period adaptive strategies from a time when the region was still in the grip of a waning Ice Age. Contributors examine data concerning the structures, the duration and repetition of occupations, and the nature of the site’s artifact assemblages to offer a valuable new perspective on human activity in the Rocky Mountains in the Late Pleistocene. Chapters survey the history of fieldwork at the site and compare and explain the various excavation procedures used; discuss the geology, taphonomic history, and geochronology of the site; analyze artifacts and other recovered materials; examine architectural elements; and compare the present and past environments of the Upper Gunnison Basin to gain insight into the setting in which Folsom groups were operating and the resources that were available to them. The Folsom archaeological record indicates far greater variability in adaptive behavior than previously recognized in traditional models. The Mountaineer Site shows how accounting for reduced mobility, more generalized subsistence patterns, and variability in tool manufacture and use allows for a richer and more accurate understanding of Folsom lifeways. It will be of great interest to graduate students and archaeologists focusing on Paleoindian archaeology, hunter-gatherer mobility, lithic technological organization, and prehistoric households, as well as prehistorians, anthropologists, and social scientists.
