Synopsis Look Me in the Eye by : John Elder Robison
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER “As sweet and funny and sad and true and heartfelt a memoir as one could find.” —from the foreword by Augusten Burroughs Ever since he was young, John Robison longed to connect with other people, but by the time he was a teenager, his odd habits—an inclination to blurt out non sequiturs, avoid eye contact, dismantle radios, and dig five-foot holes (and stick his younger brother, Augusten Burroughs, in them)—had earned him the label “social deviant.” It was not until he was forty that he was diagnosed with a form of autism called Asperger’s syndrome. That understanding transformed the way he saw himself—and the world. A born storyteller, Robison has written a moving, darkly funny memoir about a life that has taken him from developing exploding guitars for KISS to building a family of his own. It’s a strange, sly, indelible account—sometimes alien yet always deeply human.

Synopsis Tears Behind My Eyes by : Darryl Miles Perkins
You want to know about me? Well I'm going to tell you. The best way to live life is to live it with no regrets. I most certainly don't have any. I can tell you that I am blessed and privileged to have had the opportunities that life has given me. A proud legacy of being in the Marine Corp, something I'll treasure for life. Who says having children doesn't make you better or at least it should. When you have to care for someone other than yourself, you learn to slow down and not take as many risks, as I was so accustom to doing. I think most people's lives are interesting, if they have the guts to share it. I can say that some of my experiences have shaped the way I think and have colored much of who I am today. I believe this is true for most. Looking back on some of my most outrageous memories and my bleakest moments, I can look ahead and honestly say that it is far from being over. So let me catch you up. I so very much enjoyed my childhood, I'm sorry if you didn't. But if you didn't, throw yourself into mine, as I share the craziness of it all. Walk with me through the sands of the Middle East while I describe in detail what made those experiences so outrageous. Learn some lessons from my mistakes, I know I did. But in the least, I know you will be captivated by my most intimate memoires. Though the good outweighed the bad, there were some things that actually made me cry. I know, most men won't usually share that information with you, I guess that's what makes me different. Enjoy, Tears Behind My Eyes.

Synopsis When You Can't Believe Your Eyes by : Hannah Fairbairn
This book was first projected in 2004, when Author Hannah Fairbairn was teaching interpersonal skills at the Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton, Massachusetts. The experiences of her adult students—and her own experience of sight lost—convinced her that everyone losing vision needs access to good information about the process of adjustment to losing sight and practical ways to use assertive speech. When You Can’t Believe Your Eyes is intended for anyone going through vision loss, their friends, and families. It will inform readers how to get expert professional help, face the trauma of loss, and navigate the world using speech more than sight. Each of the twelve chapters in the book contain many short sections and bullet-point lists, intended to facilitate access to the right information. It begins where you begin—at the doctor’s office or the hospital. Since vision loss takes many forms, there are suggestions for questions you might ask to get a clear diagnosis and the best treatment. Part One also has a description of legal blindness and possible prevention, advice about your job, and tips for life at home. Part Two is about believing in yourself as you deal with the loss, the anger, and the fear before you come up for air and consider training. Parts Three and Four describe using assertive speech and action in all kinds of settings as your independence and confidence increase. Part Five gives detailed information about everything from dating, and caring for babies to senior living, volunteering, and retaining your job. It is hoped that by reading and trying out the suggestions, the reader will recover full confidence, become a positive, assertive communicator, and lead a satisfying life. Because vision loss happens mostly in older years, the book is written with seniors particularly in mind. Professionals will also find it to be a useful resource for their patients.

Synopsis Life in My Eyes by : Kiontae Pettis
Life in My Eyes is a book created in a spiritual view. There are stories, morals, and hidden messages within this book. This book was created from a sign from God as the author prayed for guidance. He wanted to know how many pages the book should be. He went to the bank, took out 200 dollars for a bill, and on a 20 dollar bill was a sign 500. This is how many poems there are within the book, and twenty represented the age it would get published. This book is very powerful. The imagery is explicit and the rhythm flows. There is great love of poetry. Really good sayings and situations explained the book have a certain format. It can have love poetry mixed with serious poetry, but the middle to end is thrilling. You will see a spiritual side of the author, as there are stories with God throughout the book. Life in My Eyes expands an imagination in a person. Synopsis My Eyes Are Up Here by : Laura Zimmermann
My Eyes Are Up Here is a razor-sharp debut about a girl struggling to rediscover her sense of self in the year after her body decided to change all the rules. If Greer Walsh could only live inside her head, life would be easier. She’d be able to focus on excelling at math or negotiating peace talks between her best friend and . . . everyone else. She wouldn’t spend any time worrying about being the only Kennedy High student whose breasts are bigger than her head. But you can’t play volleyball inside your head. Or go to the pool. Or have confusingly date-like encounters with the charming new boy. You need an actual body for all of those things. And Greer is entirely uncomfortable in hers. Hilarious and heartbreakingly honest, My Eyes Are Up Here is a story of awkwardness and ferocity, of imaginary butterflies and rock-solid friends. It’s the story of a girl finding her way out of her oversized sweatshirt and back into the real world.
