Synopsis Letters to a Seceder From the Church of England to the Communion of Rome (Classic Reprint) by : William Edward Scudamore
Excerpt from Letters to a Seceder From the Church of England to the Communion of Rome The following Letters do not profess to notice all the questions in debate between ourselves and Rome, or to contain a full and systematic discussion of those which they do notice. The circumstances which led to their being written necessarily dictated both the choice of subject and the mode of treating it. Their publication has nevertheless been advised, in the hope that the almost elementary character which their origin has impressed upon them may render them more useful than an elaborate treatise to some of those unfortunate persons who, without competent information respecting either Church, are tempted, in our present restlessness and ferment of opinion, to forget their immediate duties, and, assuming at once the right and the ability to judge between the two communions, to decide in favour of the Roman.
