Synopsis Legacy Artifacts by : Jerry C. Blanton

Sergio Mishioki is a Peruvian anthropologist who has escaped with a national treasure and brought it to the United States. The treasure is Romeo y Julieta, a pair of adolescent mummies, and must be found as soon as possible. After the Peruvian consul in Miami hires PI Buck Jaspers to locate the mummies and return them to Peru, he sets out to find Mishioki and the treasure. Using all the operatives at his disposal, Buck narrows the hunt to the Orlando area and shares evidence with an ICE agent on the same trail. After Buck learns that Mishioki loves sports car racing, eating Peruvian food, and chasing young women, he stakes out restaurants and nightclubs, poses as a racecar driver, and investigates reclusive billionaires—the only ones who can afford to keep the mummies in good condition. In order to inspect the estates of possible suspects, Buck employs a swamp rat to take Buck and his crew through the wetlands on an airboat. But just as he gets closer to the mummies and Mishioki, Buck’s operatives reveal a disturbing reality of the person behind the theft. In this exciting mystery, the chase is on for PI Buck Jaspers after an anthropologist steals mummies from Peru and brings them to Florida.

Synopsis It’S Time to Wake-Up & Reclaim the Legacy by : Lillie M. Hibbler Ph.D.

The following pages speak of areas that must be changed in order for the African American community to reclaim our legacy, to grow, and to become all we have been designed to be. These topics are some of the toughest we have to deal with, yet they are topics we know we must confront. Truth be told, we can no longer sit and wait for the man to recognize his/her issues and change. Lets be realistic. They have no motivation to change; their lives are comfortable. Would you change your life if it were comfortable? You would not. The motivation for the majority to change society for the minority does not exist. The only way to move ahead and prosper is to put forth energy, to be accountable for our own success, to stop coming up with excuses, and to come up with executable action steps. Take control of your own life, be accountable for your decisions, and be responsible for your family.

Synopsis Oracle Modernization Solutions by : Tom Laszewski

This book combines case studies with practical examples of how to implement modernization techniques using Oracle (and partner) products to modernize to the Oracle Platform. The book also weighs the pros and cons of specific modernization use cases. Finally, we explore some of the emerging trends in technology and how they apply to legacy modernization. Legacy system architects, project managers, program managers, developers, database architects and decision makers who own mainframe and heterogeneous systems, and are tasked with modernization will all find this book useful. The book assumes some knowledge of mainframes, J2EE, SOA, and Oracle technologies. The reader should have some background in programming and database design.

Synopsis Fechner's Legacy in Psychology by : Joshua A. Solomon

This collection celebrates the 150th anniversary of Fechner's book on Psychophysics (originally published ten years after his epiphany of Oct. 22, 1850). Topics include modern assessments of the problems with which Fechner wrestled. Also included are more general discussions of psychophysical methodology, psychophysical theory, and how these two things can be useful in areas not normally associated with psychophysics. Furthermore, these works provide an entrée into Fechner’s ideas, which is perhaps more accessible than his seminal work itself.

Synopsis Tool-Based Requirement Traceability between Requirement and Design Artifacts by : Bernhard Turban

Processes for developing safety-critical systems impose special demands on ensuring requirements traceability. Achieving valuable traceability information, however, is especially difficult concerning the transition from requirements to design. Bernhard Turban analyzes systems and software engineering theories cross-cutting the issue (embedded systems development, systems engineering, software engineering, requirements engineering and management, design theory and processes for safety-critical systems). As a solution, the author proposes a new tool approach to support designers in their thinking in order to achieve traceability as a by-product to normal design activities and to extend traceability information with information about design decision rationale.
