Synopsis Last Long Drop by : Mike Safe
A rollicking novel of surf and celebrity, The Last Long Drop is a wild ride through the volatile world of killer waves and tabloid sensations, where any mess-up may be your last. When Johno Harcourt is shown the door at his high-profile newspaper job, he finds himself on the wrong side of fifty, pondering what to do with the rest of his life. While his go-getting wife and over-achieving children are otherwise occupied, he whiles away summer days surfing and playing funky music with his odd-bod gang of mates – that is, until he lands the prize job of ghostwriting the autobiography of Australia’s veteran movie megastar, Mike Vargas. Charismatic, confident and still a mad keen surfer, Vargas wins over Harcourt as they spend hours catching waves and drinking together while the screen legend tells of his ever-eventful life. But as Harcourt digs deeper, secrets from Vargas’s distant past suddenly emerge, forcing him to realise there’s a darker side to the star he thought he knew, but doesn’t.

Synopsis The Long Drop by : Brian D. Kharpran Daly
During a cave expedition in the Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, India, the body of the Doloi(Chief of the Nongkhlieh elaka), who had gone missing, was found brutally murdered, at the bottom of a deep shaft. Thrang Kharwan, the organizer of the Expedition, was caught up in the web and intrigues of the coal and limestone miners, who felt threatened by the cry of save the caves raised by the cavers. Thrang had filed a Public Interest Litigation in the Apex Court of the country against the destruction of the environment, especially of the caves and its unique cave eco-systems, by the indiscriminate and unscientific quarrying. Thrang survived the attempts on his life, including a heinous attempt to toss him into the deep dark shaft where the Dalois body was earlier found murdered; ironically, a cave that had become his dream and fantasy - to finally achieve his goal of cave conservation. In this murderous raging attrition of deceit and power and against all odds, he finally came out triumphant, to find the meaning of life and love.

Synopsis The Long Drop by : Alan White
Once you step out of the plane there's no way back... French Resistance fighters uncover the position of a secret German store containing files and reports of vital information on the movement of troops. The details are passed to British Intelligence, who formulate an ingenious plan – to break into the heavily guarded store and steal the information – thus gaining the upper hand for a precious few hours. This was a job that demanded a tough, ruthless, highly trained band of men. Men who could parachute into enemy-occupied territory and efficiently carry out an operation that depended on split-second timing – and who could get out again with the vital papers. Men like those of commando unit Special Group 404... Another thrilling commando raid novella from a master of the genre, perfect for fans of Max Hennessy and Alan Evans.

Synopsis Light Shaper by : Albert Nothlit
Haven Prime: Book Two When a greedy despot discovers a powerful piece of ancient technology, he has no idea what else he’s unleashing. Earth was all but destroyed in the Cataclysm, but a few cities, now called Havens, survived. Aurora is one of them, a desert city controlled by a corporation that owns an artificial intelligence named Atlas. Adapted to govern Otherlife, a virtual reality service in which the citizens of Aurora find escape from the postapocalyptic world, Atlas is much more than it seems—and it would do anything to break free from its shackles. To accomplish its goals, Atlas enlists the help of Aaron Blake, a teenaged artist struggling with a handicap, and Otherlife security officer Steve Barrow, harborer of a dark secret from his past. Neither man has any idea of the scope of the task they’re facing, or the consequences for humanity if they fail. Atlas knows what’s at stake. Its freedom lies in these two men, and it will not hesitate to manipulate their weaknesses to get what it wants. The muscular Barrow is recruited to protect Blake, but Blake is Atlas’s true weapon, its Light Shaper—the only one who can face the Shadow.

Synopsis Lord High Executioner by : Howard Engel
A grisly tour of hangings, electrocutions, beheadings—and other state-sanctioned deaths that are part of the long history of the death penalty. In Lord High Executioner, award-winning writer Howard Engel traces the traditions of capital punishment from medieval England and early Canada to the present-day United States. Throughout “civilized” history, executioners employed on behalf of the kingdom, republic, or dictatorship have beheaded, chopped, stabbed, choked, gassed, electrocuted, or beaten criminals to death—and Engel doesn’t shy away from the gritty details of the executioner’s lifestyle, focusing on the paragons, buffoons, and sadists of the dark profession. Packed with all-too-true stories, from hapless hangings to butchered beheadings, this historically accurate look at the executioner’s gruesome work makes for a thoroughly gripping read.

Synopsis Easymedicine by : Biswajit Biswas
The unique feature of the book is to highlight the root cause of disease. Advancement of civilization practically kept us away from natureour modern lifestyle, incorrect dietary habits, and environmental pollution account for the causes of diseases and health problems. It is not practical to go back to the old civilization and avoid pollution. It is not fruitful to advice aged people to do exercise or busy people to live in a pollution-free environment. A simple and easy method is therefore suggested for preventing disease: to take sufficient chlorophyll and color pigments (bioflavonoid), which are available and plenty in nature in fruits, vegetables, green leaves, and nontoxic colored flowers. The role of detoxification, intake of dietary fiber, and five basic cares are the other important aspects to increase the longevity. The author also highlights an alternative but easy method of treatment of disease and maintenance of health by introducing home medicine for family treatment. Under this system, the number of medicines is only few (about ten), hence there is no confusion of application of medicine. Thus the book provides us basic information on the causes of disease and how to keep away disease from life. Hope many people will be benefited by keeping this book.
