Synopsis Knights, Witches, and the Afflicted by : R M Schultz
A mysterious caravan. An affliction left in their wake. Townspeople are being struck blind after a group of travelers pass through, each victim's eyes removed by an ethereal whip and replaced with shadowy black pits. Calec and Serileen pursue the caravan, hunting a specific merchant who is a suspect in Serileen's mother's death. But the number of victims climb and draws them deeper into the Horseman's web of deceit. Serileen aims to uncover the lies of the merchant in question while Calec must unmask an adversary bent on destroying the caravan from within. There are no clues left behind and no alibis, only haunting visions seen by the afflicted. As Calec draws closer, the Horseman's whip will lash out for him-at the potential cost of his life and soul.

Synopsis Reading the Salem Witch Child by : Kristina West
This book discusses the role of children in the Salem witch trials through a close reading of the many and varied narratives of the trials, including court records, contemporary and historical documents, fiction, drama, and poetry. Taking a critical theory approach to explore both what we might understand as a child in 1692 New England and to consider our adult investment in reading the child, Kristina West explores narratives of the afflicted girls and the many accused children whom are often absent or overlooked in histories, and considers how the trial structure is continually repeated in attempts to establish the respective guilt and innocence of these and other groups. This book also analyses later manuscripts and fictional rewritings of the trials to question the basis on which assumptions about the child in history are made, and to consider why such narratives of Salem’s children are still relevant now.

Synopsis Persons of the Best Prudence by : Joseph R. Lange
Fresh from the deserts of Egypt, Dr. Trevor Knight has had little time to decompress or allow his hand to heal before the evil that haunts his dreams has followed him. Summoned by the priest Father Krubel, Knight is needed in the city of Salem. The Witch City. The Court of Oyer and Terminer. Sins of the fathers take more than 350 years to be forgotten, Dr. Knight discovers. Or forgiven. By witch or mortal. Coded manuscripts point to evil. Can their meaning be found in time? A story written long ago. A house now famous. But what secrets are yet unknown? Who still walks the grounds by Salem Harbor? Peine forte et dure, Dr. Knight. And what of Sir Robert? Yes, indeed, my good doctor. What of Sir Robert?
