Synopsis Jill Dando and Cliff Richard! by : D Paterson
Jill Wendy Dando, born on 9th November 1961, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England, UK, was a journalist, TV presenter and newsreader, who was the 1997 BBC Personality of the Year. At the time of her death, she was the presenter of the BBC programme Crimewatch. On 26 April 1999, Dando was shot dead outside her home in Fulham, London. A local man, Barry George, was convicted and imprisoned for the murder in July 2001 but was later acquitted after a retrial, in August 2008, following a third appeal. The theory that the murder was a Bosnian-Serb retaliation for the NATO bombing of the Radio Television of Serbia headquarters, on 23 April 1999, was initially dismissed by police, but has since been given more credence. The case remains open.

Synopsis The Dreamer by : Cliff Richard
'Before Cliff Richard and the Shadows, there was nothing worth listening to in British music.' - John Lennon. Cliff Richard tells his story, in his own words, in his highly anticipated new autobiography. Achieving a hit in every decade since the 1950s, Cliff Richard stands alone in pop history. Coming of age in 1950s London, he began his music career at Soho's legendary 2i's Cafe, and now he's approaching his 80th birthday with record sales of over 250m and counting. Cliff Richard was a pioneer, forging the way for British rock 'n' roll with his unique sound. The original British teen idol, his incredible story takes us into the studio of TV's first pop show Oh Boy!, through 40 years of Top of the Pops, and playing live up and down the country and across the world, with a constant backdrop of screaming fans. Cliff looks back on his humble upbringing, and how he went on to fulfil his wildest dreams by becoming a pop star and even a film star. He talks about finding Christianity, reflects on the ups and downs of life in the public eye, and reveals how the false allegations against him changed his life forever. He's seen era-defining pop stars come and go, and he's still making new music, with a new project to be released this year. As a teenage Elvis-fan in Cheshunt, this may have seem a distant dream. Here's his story of how he made it all happen.

Synopsis Britain's Ten Most Wanted by : Vanessa Howard
Murder is rare. Rarer still are those killers who get away with it - but they are out there, walking our streets. Included in this in-depth book are some famous cases that generated enormous publicity, such as the disappearance of Susy Lamplugh and the murder of Jill Dando. Despite extensive coverage in the press and the police following thousands of leads, somehow the killers slipped away. Other cases are less well known, but are terrifying in their brutality. Like that of Janet Brown, a nurse, whose naked body was discovered at her home on a quiet morning in April. Or mother-of-four Sandra Phillips, who was savagely beaten, strangled and assaulted at the sex shop she worked at. Discover the shocking story of the brutal ritual killing of an unknown young African boy, given the name Adam by officers. His torso was found floating in the Thames and the subsequent investigation revealed a cruel, dark underworld in modern Britain. For the first time, established true crime author Vanessa Howard brings together the cases that continue to perplex the British police and asks new questions to try to uncover the identity of the predators that still live among us.

Synopsis My Life with Murderers by : David Wilson
BE THE FIRST TO READ DAVID WILSON'S NEW TRUE CRIME BOOK "A PLOT TO KILL" BY PRE-ORDERING NOW 'Hugely insightful and thought provoking . . . I read it from cover to cover in one go' - Emilia Fox 'With characteristic brilliance and admirable sensitivity, Wilson illuminates the complex causes of their often horrific crimes' - Professor Simon Winlow, Vice President of the British Society of Criminology Professor David Wilson has spent his professional life working with violent men - especially men who have committed murder. Aged twenty-nine he became, at that time, the UK's youngest ever prison Governor in charge of a jail and his career since then has seen him sat across a table with all sorts of killers: sometimes in a tense interview; sometimes sharing a cup of tea (or something a little stronger); sometimes looking them in the eye to tell them that they are a psychopath. Some of these men became David's friends; others would still love to kill him. My Life with Murderers tells the story of David's journey from idealistic prison governor to expert criminologist and professor. With experience unlike any other, David's story is a fascinating and compelling study of human nature.
