Synopsis Modelling, Simulation and Data Analysis in Acoustical Problems by : Claudio Guarnaccia
Modelling and simulation in acoustics is currently gaining importance. In fact, with the development and improvement of innovative computational techniques and with the growing need for predictive models, an impressive boost has been observed in several research and application areas, such as noise control, indoor acoustics, and industrial applications. This led us to the proposal of a special issue about “Modelling, Simulation and Data Analysis in Acoustical Problems”, as we believe in the importance of these topics in modern acoustics’ studies. In total, 81 papers were submitted and 33 of them were published, with an acceptance rate of 37.5%. According to the number of papers submitted, it can be affirmed that this is a trending topic in the scientific and academic community and this special issue will try to provide a future reference for the research that will be developed in coming years.

Synopsis Energy Aspects of Acoustic Cavitation and Sonochemistry by : Oualid Hamdaoui
Energy Aspects of Acoustic Cavitation and Sonochemistry: Fundamentals and Engineering covers topics ranging from fundamental modeling to up-scaled experiments. The book relates acoustic cavitation and its intrinsic energy balance to macroscopic physical and chemical events that are analyzed from an energetic perspective. Outcomes are directly projected into practical applications and technological assessments covering energy consumption, thermal dissipation, and energy efficiency of a diverse set of applications in mixed phase synthesis, environmental remediation and materials chemistry. Special interest is dedicated to the sonochemical production of hydrogen and its energetic dimensions. Due to the sensitive energy balance that governs this process, this is seen as a "green process" for the production of future energy carriers. - Provides a concise and detailed description of energy conversion and exchange within the single acoustic cavitation bubble and bubble population, accompanying physical and chemical effects - Features a comprehensive approach that is supported by experiments and the modeling of energy concentration within the sonochemical reactor, jointly with energy dissipation and damping phenomenon - Gives a clear definition of energy efficiency metrics of industrial sono-processes and their application to the main emergent industrial fields harnessing acoustic cavitation and sonochemistry, notably for the production of hydrogen

Synopsis Current Controversies in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, An Issue of Radiologic Clinics of North America, E-Book by : Douglas S. Katz
In this issue of Radiologic Clinics, guest editors Drs. Douglas S. Katz and John J. Hines bring their considerable expertise to the topic of Current Evidence for Selected Topics in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology. Current evidence in radiology asks the question: what is the most appropriate imaging test on the basis of the best available evidence, the physician's experience, and the patient's expectations? In this issue, top experts review current controversies in radiology and the evidence used to support or contradict the clinical question asked. - Contains 14 relevant, practice-oriented topics including how do we assess controversies using evidence-based radiology?; artificial intelligence in radiology; stroke: controversies in imaging, intervention, and management; manufactured "controversies" have obscured the importance of breast cancer screening; nuclear medicine controversies; and more. - Provides in-depth clinical reviews on current evidence for selected topics in diagnostic and interventional radiology, offering actionable insights for clinical practice. - Presents the latest information on this timely, focused topic under the leadership of experienced editors in the field. Authors synthesize and distill the latest research and practice guidelines to create clinically significant, topic-based reviews.

Synopsis Oncologic Ultrasound, An Issue of Ultrasound Clinics by : Vikram S. Dogra
The detection of tumors in various organ systems remains one of the central applications of ultrasound. This issue of Ultrasound Clinics will consist of 10 articles under the title Oncologic Ultrasound and will feature several articles on elastrography (a developing method for distinguishing tumors from normal tissue), as well as endoscopic ultrasound in oncology, ultrasound guidance in tumor ablation, and ultrasound guided biopsies. The editor, Vikram Dogra, who also serves as consulting editor of the series, has put together an issue that addresses the core clinical concerns of oncologic imaging for the radiologist specializing in ultrasound.
