En ocasión de la inauguración del Centro Leverhulme para el Futuro de la Inteligencia en la Universidad de Harvard, el astrofísico Stephen Hawking resumió sus preocupaciones en la siguiente frase: "El surgimiento de una poderosa inteligencia artificial será lo mejor o lo peor que le haya pasado a la humanidad, todavía no lo sabemos". En esta frase radica el modo en que podemos aproximarnos a la Inteligencia Artificial: abrirnos paso en un camino que se encuentra entre el entusiasmo y la cautela, entre la maravilla y el terror.

At the inauguration of the Leverhulme Center for the Future of Intelligence at Harvard University, physicist Stephen Hawking summarized his concerns in the following sentence: "The rise of powerful AI will be either the best, or the worst thing, ever to happen to humanity. We do not yet know which". This could be an interesting way to approach artificial intelligence: navigating a path between enthusiasm and caution, between wonder and terror.

We are publishing this book as the result of a research project carried out by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain and AFM Krakow University in Poland. Some parts of it were already announced during a scientific Conference organised remotely in Kraków in October 2020. It is now time to present the research findings in writing.The issue of Artificial Intelligence has long raised questions and interests, including those of legal science. A number of problems have not yet been widely analysed, despite the fact that the present time is undoubtedly a time of technological challenges. Therefore, in the presented publication, prepared by the international scientific community, under our scientific guidance, the authors try to analyse the areas which, in their opinion and in our opinion, required such analysis. The leitmotif of our scientific work was human rights and their relationship with Artificial Intelligence. In presenting the research results in this book, we realise that a number of issues still need to be clarified. Nevertheless, we hope that the work presented for the reader’s consideration will constitute an interesting voice in the discussion, a point of reference for all those dealing with the legal issues of new technologies and the protection of human rights.As the presented book is a collective work, the authors essentially present their own views. The whole work has been designed to address a broad spectrum of issues in Artificial Intelligence and human rights in a single collection. This trilingual volume examines the extent to which myths are affected by the crises of the 20th and 21st centuries. It brings together four theoretical studies which analyse both the crisis of structure – implying the distortion or disappearance of myth – and the crisis of concepts and terminology that currently threaten the study of mythology. The largest section of the volume focuses on the crises that have affected ancient, medieval and modern literary myths from a global perspective, taking into account psychology, ethics, politics and contemporary meta-literature. The final section examines the crisis experienced by those myths which permeate the material world, investigating historical and fictitious characters, mythologized places, and languages. The volume is a remarkable collection of 30 texts that were selected from 300 proposals by prestigious researchers from over 30 countries during the 3rd International Conference of Myth Criticism held in Madrid in October 2014.
