Based on Bulletin 110 of the Fisheries Research Board of Canada "Index and list of titles, publications of the Fisheries Research Board of Canada, 1901-1954" published in 1957, this present Bulletin very considerably expands its predecessor.

A subject-author index of FRB's own publications and contributions to other publications. It is an amalgamation of the annual indexes in the December issue of the Board's Journal 1965-71. It continues the purpose of Bulletin 164 which indexes the period 1900-64.

Wilks provides a historical background, list of publications, and description of activities for most of the major science initiatives undertaken at the federal level. He surveys a wide range of government documents and monographic and serial science collections used by both faculty and students.
