Synopsis Haunted By My Past by : Sandra M. Dorazil

The youngest get the short end of the stick when situations appear. Many times the youngest are seen as a nuisance that no one wants to hear from because it is often thought, “They don’t know anything about the outside world.” (That is what I perceived as a young child.) Little does everyone know that the youngest (such as myself) know more than what they get credit for by just knowing information. There are narratives that have been spread from those closest to me, even before I can remember. Those points of view only produce parts of what I think or feel. It has been years listening and closing my mouth, even if it seemed like I had no problem stating my opinions. I am ready to say, “Enough is enough.” Now is the time for myself to state the narrative that I have been longing to say without any interruptions. Are you able to handle my narrative?

Synopsis The Memory Illusion by : Dr Julia Shaw

THE INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER 'Truly fascinating.' Steve Wright, BBC Radio 2 - Have you ever forgotten the name of someone you’ve met dozens of times? - Or discovered that your memory of an important event was completely different from everyone else’s? - Or vividly recalled being in a particular place at a particular time, only to discover later that you couldn’t possibly have been? We rely on our memories every day of our lives. They make us who we are. And yet the truth is, they are far from being the accurate record of the past we like to think they are. In The Memory Illusion, forensic psychologist and memory expert Dr Julia Shaw draws on the latest research to show why our memories so often play tricks on us – and how, if we understand their fallibility, we can actually improve their accuracy. The result is an exploration of our minds that both fascinating and unnerving, and that will make you question how much you can ever truly know about yourself. Think you have a good memory? Think again. 'A spryly paced, fun, sometimes frightening exploration of how we remember – and why everyone remembers things that never truly happened.' Pacific Standard

Synopsis Tasting the Past by : Kevin Begos

“A myth-busting, history-reclaiming, science-centric, skeptical—and yet loving and respectful—tour of the history, the present, and even the future of wine production.” —Cat Warren, author of What the Dog Knows “This is quite a book and I hope it is read widely throughout the wine world and that it has a huge impact. The fact that current practices have put a halt to evolution for wine grapes, that was news to me. Tasting the Past shocked the hell out of me.” —Kermit Lynch, wine merchant and author of Adventures on the Wine Route Discover the hidden life of wine. After a chance encounter with an obscure Middle Eastern red, journalist Kevin Begos embarks on a ten-year journey to seek the origins of wine. What he unearths is a whole world of forgotten grapes, each with distinctive tastes and aromas, as well as the archaeologists, geneticists, chemists—even a paleobotanist—who are deciphering wine down to molecules of flavor. We meet a young scientist who sets out to decode the DNA of every single wine grape in the world; a researcher who seeks to discover the wines that Caesar and Cleopatra drank; and an academic who has spent decades analyzing wine remains to pinpoint ancient vineyards. Science illuminates wine in ways no critic can, and it has demolished some of the most sacred dogmas of the industry: for example, well-known French grapes aren’t especially noble. We travel with Begos along the original wine routes—starting in the Caucasus Mountains, where wine grapes were first domesticated eight thousand years ago; then down to Israel and across the Mediterranean to Greece, Italy, and France; and finally to America where vintners are just now beginning to make distinctive wines from a new generation of local grapes. Imagine the wine grape version of heirloom vegetables or craft beer, or better yet, taste it: Begos offers readers drinking suggestions that go far beyond the endless bottles of Chardonnay and Merlot found in most stores and restaurants. In this viticultural detective story wine geeks and history lovers alike will discover new tastes and flavors to savor.

Synopsis Children Who Remember Previous Lives by : Ian Stevenson, M.D.

The concept of reincarnation has been around for thousands of years, and is a part of many religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. In addition to these religious beliefs, many people believe it offers an explanation for the mysteries of life. There are children that claim to remember previous lives as adults or even animals. These claimed memories might affect the development of the child and be incorporated into the child's personality. This book presents an in-depth look at Dr. Stevenson's forty years studying children who claim to remember previous lives. It is an informative, professional read that dispels common misconceptions about reincarnation and offers an open-minded perspective. It provides an overview of the history of the belief in and evidence for reincarnation, with new material relating to birthmarks and birth defects, independent replication studies, and recent developments in genetic study. It also covers research on children, the methods used, the cases studied, and the analyses of the data. The idea of reincarnation is explored as an explanation for some unsolved problems in psychology and medicine. • INTRODUCTION TO REINCARNATION--Provides an introduction to the study of reincarnation, including a discussion of the belief in reincarnation. • VARIATIONS IN DIFFERENT CULTURES--Looks at how reincarnation is viewed in different cultures around the world and how it has changed over time. • EXPLANATORY VALUE OF THE IDEA OF REINCARNATION--The idea of reincarnation has been around for thousands of years, and many people believe it offers an explanation for the mysteries of life. • TYPES OF EVIDENCE FOR REINCARNATION--There are many types of evidence for reincarnation, including anecdotal evidence, case studies, and research studies. • TYPICAL CASES OF CHILDREN--Looks at typical cases of children who remember previous lives, with a focus on their characteristics. • METHODS OF RESEARCH--Discusses the methods of research and the various ways in which previous-life memories can be investigated. • ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF CASES--Analyzes a number of cases from the author's 40-year career.

Synopsis Through My Eyes..The Past Comes Calling by : AJ

My name is AJ, I live in Toronto Canada. On February 18, 1996 Michael J. Hummel drugged me with GHB, kidnapped me and then Gregg A. Tippett and he raped me and almost killed me. I believed I was not their only victim and I refused to stay silent. After their pictures were exposed in the national media over 30 women came forth with similar horror stories with them. In effect my mission became to put them behind bars and stop them from victimizing any more women. During the botched criminal case, I hired two Florida lawyers specifi cally for a trial with these delinquents. I didn’t trust my lawyers; therefore I taped one of them. In effect, I not only learned that they lied to the judges and me, but most critically I discovered that the lawyers were involved in a conspiracy to set the culprits free from a trial and shift liability to State Farm insurance for 1.5 million dollars. After I paid my attorneys $85,000 they abandoned me and left me standing in the Florida courts alone fighting their $41,000 invoice from State Farm as a result of their coerced, colluded contract. My attorneys simply raped me of my justice! I then filed a Florida Bar complaint and the packed mentality legalese ignored, discarded and neglected my undisputable smoking gun evidence; “my tape.” I believe the public has a right to know the factual raw truth. The lessons are never give up on yourself and never underestimate the power of your voice!
