Synopsis How to create high quality teaching and learning in the digital era : teachers, students and parents' perspectives by : Christine Wulandari Suryaningrum
‘How to Create High Quality Teaching and Learning in Digital Era: Teachers’, Students’ and Parents’ Perspectives’ presents a collection of works by authors in the field of education, like from the field of language teaching, mathematics education, early childhood education, TPACK, parental involvement, and the use of technology. The book was especially written during the outbreak of the COVID-19 where classes were moved to online classes. This extreme change has led to different reactions from all elements of education; students, teachers, and parents. Some common reactions observed by the works in this edited book include hesitation, skepticism, puzzlement, but some reacted positively, with excitement and enthusiasm. Indonesia has experienced a period with massive online courses and classes during the two years of pandemic. Despite the initial shock, Indonesia has proved to survive and made this a golden period in which many innovative teaching ideas were created. Indonesia has also accelerated its adaptation of technology to teaching during this time. This book is therefore presented to you to discuss how technology is integrated in education from different perspectives.

Synopsis Digital citizenship education from a parent's perspective by : Janice Richardson
A majority of parents today are grappling with issues such as privacy, digital footprints and bullying. Where do they turn to find reliable information? When should they intervene in their children’s online activities? What is their role in ensuring that their children master the values, attitudes, skills and knowledge they need to actively, effectively engage with society? In 2020, the Council of Europe conducted a survey to better understand the views of parents on digital citizenship education and the concerns they have about their children’s use of digital technology. More than 21 000 parents in 47 countries responded to the survey, which was followed up by interviews in 2020 and 2021. Digital citizenship education from a parent’s perspective maps the needs and reflections of parents as they strive to ensure the well-being of their children and help them become competent digital citizens, who are empowered by digital technology rather than shaped by it. Conducted in the midst of school closures during the Covid-19 pandemic, the study documents parents’ experience when they stepped up as primary educators, often with little or no guidance from schools and inadequate digital equipment to cover their children’s needs. It aims to foster debate between parents, educators, researchers and policy makers on the meaning and challenges of digital citizenship education for children growing up in today’s digital age.

Synopsis Teaching and Learning in Digital World by : Mercè Gisbert
Many reports over the last few years have analysed the potential use of games, videogames, 3D environments and virtual reality for educational purposes. Numerous emerging technological devices have also appeared that will play important roles in the development of teaching and learning processes. In the context of these developments, learning rather than teaching becomes the main axis in the organisation of the educational process. This process has now gone beyond the analogue world and face-toface education to enter the digital world, where new learning environments are being produced with ever greater doses of realism. Teaching and Learning in Digital Worlds examines the teaching and learning process in 3D virtual environments from both the theoretical and practical points of view.
