Synopsis Hope Has a Cold Nose by : Christine Hassing
“To have a service dog like Able should be the medication any soldier is prescribed who has gone out and had trauma of some kind.” In Hope Has a Cold Nose, Christine Hassing relays true stories of military veterans and others who rose from the ashes of PTSD and MST with the help of their service dogs. Devoting every chapter to a different human-canine pair, Hassing shares the story of each person with PTSD and their service dog with pathos and creativity. These powerful stories, part testimonial, part author’s interpretation using rhythm and rhyme, bring important insights about how service dogs help people with PTSD and MST in countless ways. From sensing a nightmare and waking a veteran before terror takes hold, to placing a comforting paw on someone’s shoulder to ward off a panic attack, these dogs play a key role in helping those who’ve lived through trauma reintegrate into society. Lovingly written, Hope Has a Cold Nose is a unique and compelling collection of survivors’ stories for dog lovers of all kinds, for those who’ve experienced PTSD and their loved ones, and for those interested in how service dogs can help people heal from the deepest emotional wounds.

Synopsis Glimmer of Hope by : Ryan King
Following a nuclear holocaust, Nathan Taylor and his family face grim choices in order to stay alive. Fleeing deadly radiation, plague and desperate men, Nathan, an army officer, leads his wife and their two teenage sons away from chaos and madness toward his ancestral home in Kentucky. Horrors lie in their path. From the prison struggling to maintain control of its inmates, to the desperadoes who enslave anyone who comes their way, even survival may cost Nathan his humanity...or that of his sons, Joshua and David. Nathan struggles to keep his family intact, but it requires making brutal choices. He wants to protect his sons, but knows they now must be deadly and cold at times. Nathan's home has been spared from the worst of the destruction, but a larger conflict over scarce resources erupts. For the survivors to have any chance they will have to fight and the desperate journey has transformed young Joshua and David into men called upon to lead and sacrifice. Torn between harsh realities, and wanting to hold onto fleeting childhoods, they are often conflicted and angry about the roles thrust upon them. Much will depend on how Nathan and his sons respond to a madman and his military regime seeking to conquer the fledgling community they are helping to build. GLIMMER OF HOPE is an epic tale of one family's endurance and triumph after tomorrow's apocalypse.

Synopsis Howard Hughes Was Bob Hope in Make-Up by : Joseph Polillo
I always knew Howard Hughes was Bob Hope in makeup. I knew who Bob Hope was since the ’70s. I began gathering facts and proofs to prove beyond reasonable doubt that I knew what I was talking about! I wrote this book because I was tired of telling my theory to just one or two people at a time. Howard Hughes was Bob Hope in makeup, and he told you so in his TV skits, in his movies, and in his books. The life of Bob Hope was a cover story bought and paid for by the United States government—an alleged life. Howard Rupert Hughes Jr. was “Sonny” billionaire industrialist, oilman, movie producer, screenwriter, director, photographer, and inventor of satellites, lasers, ships, planes, jets, and rockets. Hope himself stated that he had a group of writers, and he was the one with two (2) heads. And most of all, he was a character actor in his own movies from his own studios. I have in my possession a magazine ad with Hope lying in bed, and the header above his picture read: “Two of the most famous names in America sleep together.” My theory is, Howard Hughes disappeared, went underground, and reappeared in makeup as Bob Hope in an “alleged life,” wearing a mask. Howard Hughes was talking behind his Bob Hope face. Here’s a quote from Hope: “I do my best impersonations right in front of the people, and they don’t get it. They don’t listen.” Hope stated “my names” would go down in history. Another quote from Hope stated, “My sixty years with NBC proves Lincoln was wrong. You can fool all the people all the time.” He did!
