“This book serves as your personal heart healing coach to . . . free your heart and mind of the wounds of the past.” —Jamie Lynn Sigler, actress on The Sopranos Whatever the cause of your heartbreak—the end of a relationship, the death of a loved one, a divorce, shattered dreams, a family feud, a life-threatening diagnosis, career turmoil, or past abuse that repeats over and over again—it is never too early or too late to courageously forgive and let go. Filled with stories, proven exercises, and powerful affirmations to free you from any resentment and anger you are holding towards yourself or others, this book offers potent opportunities for lasting, life-changing heart-healing. The “emotional clutter” of old resentments, grudges, guilt, and shame are blocks to love and a direct call for action. Readers will learn: The distinction between a closed and broken heartTo identify the specific beliefs that continue to activate your emotional wounds and unresolved angerHow to forgive yourself and others using the Deal-Heal-Forgive ProcessHow healing your heart contributes to healing the broken-heartedness in the world today. With wisdom gained from her own heartbreak story and decades of study with Joseph Campbell, Jean Houston, Robert Fritz, don Miguel Ruiz and thousands of clients and students, Susyn Reeve has written a refreshingly honest and practical guide to living a life of contentment, connection, and long-overdue love. “Heartbreak is a painful fact of life. Be prepared to free your heart, because you were born worthy.” —Nell Merlino, creator of Take Our Daughters to Work Day

Synopsis Healing the Wounded Heart by : Dan B. Allender
First published in 1989, Dan Allender's The Wounded Heart has helped hundreds of thousands of people come to terms with sexual abuse in their past. Now, more than twenty-five years later, Allender has written a brand-new book on the subject that takes into account recent discoveries about the lasting physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual ramifications of sexual abuse. With great compassion Allender offers hope for victims of rape, date rape, incest, molestation, sexting, sexual bullying, unwanted advances, pornography, and more, exposing the raw wounds that are left behind and clearing the path toward wholeness and healing. Never minimizing victims' pain or offering pat spiritual answers that don't truly address the problem, he instead calls evil evil and lights the way to renewed joy. Counselors, pastors, and friends of those who have suffered sexual harm will find in this book the deep spiritual guidance they need to effectively minister to the sexually broken around them. Victims themselves will find here a sympathetic friend to walk alongside them on the road to healing.

Synopsis Healing by Heart by : Kathie Culhane-Pera
Healing by Heart is a book of stories--stories of people's search for culturally responsive health care from U.S. providers. It offers resources to providers and institutions committed to delivering culturally responsive health care, paying special attention to building successful relationships with traditional Hmong patients and families. It makes available extensive information about the health-related beliefs, practices, and values of the Hmong people, including photographs of traditional healing methods. Ranging in age from young infants to older adults, the patients in the stories present a wide range of health problems. The clinicians are from family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, emergency medicine, surgery, obstetrics-gynecology, psychiatry/psychology, and hospice. Each of the fourteen case stories is accompanied by discussion questions as well as two or three commentaries. The commentaries--written by patients, family members, shaman, Western clinicians (including Hmong physicians, nurses, and social workers), medical anthropologists, health care ethicists, social workers, psychologists, and clergy--are rich in personal reflections on cross-cultural health care experiences. Readers are rewarded with a combination of perspectives, including those of Hmong authors who have not previously published in English and scholars with years of professional experience working with the Hmong in Laos, Thailand, and the United States. The editors offer a model for delivering culturally responsive health care with special attention to matters of cross-cultural health care ethics. The model identifies questions health care providers can focus on as they seek to understand the health-related moral commitments and practices prevalent in the cultural groups they serve, ethical questions that arise frequently and with great poignancy in cross-cultural health care relationships, and points to consider when a patient's treatment wish challenges the provider's professional integrity. By sharing stories of suffering, confusion, and success, Healing by Heart couples an accessible method of learning about others with concrete recommendations about how to enhance cross-cultural health care relationships.

Synopsis Healing Your Heart by : Tris Thorp
The past does not have to determine your present-if you choose to heal it. As human beings, we're born with a complex mental/emotional system. Yet we're not necessarily taught how to use that system to create the lives we desire. As a result, many of us feel stuck in the pain of the past and the uncertainty of how to move forward. Not knowing how to process our negative emotions, they fester, poisoning our current relationships and experiences. Our emotions create color and texture. What kind of life would it be if we didn't experience love, joy, awe and excitement? Even our negative feelings are important to guide us, help us survive, even give us the added push we need to stretch beyond ourselves. Yet, when we don't know how to handle what's going on in our lives, our emotions can sabotage our efforts, destroy our relationships and drive us to make poor choices. "I've experienced first hand what it's like to be plagued by past wounds. My personal journey to healing has not always been easy. But because of the healing work I'm sharing with you in this book, today I experience the peace, love, happiness and success I once thought was impossible for me." -Tris Thorp In Healing Your Heart, Tris Thorp uses her personal experience and expertise as well as step-by-step exercises to show you: - How to make peace with the past and turn painful experiences into empowering ones - How to deal with difficult emotions in the present and express yourself authentically - How to relate to yourself and others with compassion and acceptance -How to create new life strategies that support your growth and unlock your potential -How to allow more joy, love, expansion and happiness into your life "In the pages of this book I'll guide you on the path I took to heal myself, to heal my relationships with the people I love and to ultimately step into the person I am today. It's my hope that this book encourages you to find the clarity, the compassion, the strength and the fortitude within yourself to go the distance on your own path-and to truly heal your heart." Synopsis The Mended Heart by : Suzanne Eller
Being hurt and heartbroken is a sad reality for most of us. But I'm so thankful for this treasure of a book written by my friend Suzie Eller. Page by page, Suzie will help you understand how God's truth can heal your pain so you can move forward whole and healed. - Lysa TerKeurst, New York Times Bestselling Author and President of Proverbs 31 Ministries Brokenness happens. Tragedy, sin or the painful choices of others all have the ability to disrupt an otherwise contented life. And as a result of our heartache, we often attempt to fix our own brokenness—with disastrous results. If you've tried to heal, but keep ending up in the same place—whether the battle is in your heart or out in the open where everyone can see—The Mended Heart is for you. In this book, author Suzanne Eller tells it like it is: people throw quick fixes at you, or tell you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps (whatever that means). More important, though, she shares the powerful truth of Jesus' mission as outlined in Luke 4:18-21: He came to set free all those who are oppressed and in need of mending. You don’t have to fix yourself—Jesus loves you right where you are. In fact, He has already completed the work that needs to be done. The Mended Heart will encourage you to trust Him, to give and receive grace, and to move ahead even stronger than before … even if others don’t move with you.
