Synopsis Speaking of Animals by : Robert Palmatier

No other nonhuman source has served as the basis for more metaphors than animals. Speaking of Animals is a dictionary of animal metaphors that are current in American English. It is comprehensive, historical, and metaphor-based. Each entry refers to the other dictionaries that catalog that same metaphor, and the dates of first appearance in writing are supplied, where possible, for both the metaphor and the name of the source. The main text is organized alphabetically by metaphor rather than by animal or animal behavior; all the metaphors are classified according to their animal source in a list at the end of the book. An animal metaphor is a word, phrase, or sentence that expresses a resemblance or similarity between someone or something and a particular animal or animal class. True metaphors are single words, such as the noun tiger, the verb hog, and the adjective chicken. Phrasal metaphors combine true metaphors with other words, such as blind tiger, hog the road, and chicken colonel. Other animal metaphors take the form of similes, such as like rats leaving a sinking ship and prickly as a hedgehog. Still others take the form of proverbs, such as Don't count your chickens before they hatch and Let sleeping dogs lie. The horse is the animal most frequently referred to in metaphors, followed closely by the dog. The Bible is the most prolific literary source of animal metaphors, followed closely by Shakespeare.

Synopsis Evolution: What Dawkins Did Not Tell You by : Olufemi Emmanuel Dokun-Babalola

The notion that those of us who are Christians are some kind of flat?earthers, who are impervious to reason and evidence-based science, is utterly false. For atheism to succeed as an ideology, humanists must find an alternative explanation to creation and intelligent design. Therefore, there is a hard push for molecule-to-man evolution to be accepted as dogma. In this book, a robust riposte is presented to the current most popular book pushing this concept on the unsuspecting public (The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins). A lot of research has gone into Evolution: What Dawkins Did Not Tell you, and the thinking of several other leading scientists is encapsulated. What is clear to the author at the end of his exhaustive research, is that macroevolution, just like green men on Mars, is desperate wishful thinking. It is hoped this book will be read by the lay public, scientists, college and high school students, evolutionists, creationists, as well as policy makers in education and political leaders. If read with an open mind, there can be only one conclusion: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

These God-inspired poems were written while Myles traveled locally, nationally, and internationally as a field engineer. Myles learned that education is invaluable for advancing in society. At the age of eight, Myles's third-grade teacher inspired him to read books. By the time he was nine, he had read three hundred books, many of them were poetry books. Through poetry, he is able to express his deep feelings about humankind. Myles enjoys meeting and conversing with people of all ages, genders, and cultures. He continues to seek knowledge. Of the many poems Myles has written, he does not have a favorite. He loves them all. Reading and writing poetry are still two of Myles's favorite activities. Thank you for purchasing this book.
