Synopsis God's Prophet, God's Servant by : John Goldingay
It is easy to think of Christian ministry as an exercise of our gifts or even finding fulfillment for ourselves. In God’s Prophet, God’s Servant, John Goldingay examines the portrait of a prophet’s ministry found in Jeremiah and the portrait of a servant’s ministry in Isaiah 40-55, showing us that in both cases, God calls us to a deeper and more demanding view of ministry.

Synopsis Strengthening the Prophet by : Joann Witherspoon
As I have grown in the Lord, I have discovered that there are many prophets. Some anointed and well-trained, some... not so much. Some with integrity and Godly character, others... not so much! It grieves me to know that many who call themselves prophets are nothing more than what the Bible calls false teachers and false prophets. They are the wolves in sheep's clothing. They exploit and devour God's people for selfish gain. They speak lies and aid in promoting perpetual sin for filthy lucre. For this reason, it is vitally important to know how to discern a righteous prophet from an unrighteous one. I have made every effort to aid God's people to recognize the character and nature of a true and Godly prophet versus ungodly ones. It is a serious issue impacting the body of Christ and the world as a whole, yet I wondered why there weren't more teachings on false prophets at the countless conferences I had attended. So, one day, I just asked: "Lord, how do I know a false prophet from a true prophet?" The answer He provided me is what's in this book: revealed to me by the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth. It is He who tells us what the Father is saying and reveals to us things to come. He revealed to me in the Word what false teachers and false prophets look like so I could spiritually discern them. That is the purpose for this book: that YOU may be equipped to discern the true from the false. The word says the tree is known by the fruit it bears. Whether you are looking to enjoy or produce the fruit of the prophetic yourself, you must examine it carefully. Is the fruit-bearing tree connected to the True Vine? Is it life-giving? If you're unsure, then you've picked up the right book! Continue reading on as we explore and strengthen God's servant: the prophet.

Synopsis Chosen to be God's Prophet by : Henry Blackaby
God called Samuel to be his prophet during a time of crisis in Israel's history, a time when His chosen people had turned away from Him and were defiantly going their own way. Using the obvious parallels in today's world, noted scholar and teacher Henry Blackaby shows readers how God works in and through those he choses. God spoke to Samuel again and again, shaping him through trials and tragedies Dr. Blackaby calls "defining moments." By studying Samuel's life, readers learn to recognize their own defining moments, and see how moments often defined in crises are simply the voice of God, calling us to His purpose.

Synopsis The Suffering Servant by : Bernd Janowski
Translated by Daniel P. Bailey The Servant Song of Isaiah 53 has been highly significant in both Jewish and Christian thought. Rarely, however, has it been explored from the broad range of perspectives represented in this long-awaited volume. In "The Suffering Servant ten talented biblical interpreters trace the influence of the Servant Song text through the centuries, unpacking the theological meanings of this rich passage of scripture and its uses in various religious contexts. Chapters examine in depth Isaiah 52:13-53:12 in the Hebrew original and in later writings, including pre-Christian Jewish literature, the New Testament, the Isaiah Targum, the early church fathers, and a sixteenth-century rabbinic document informed by Jewish-Christian dialogue. Synopsis Believe in God's Prophet and You Shall Prosper by : Doreen Ameku Nelson
"Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper" 2 Chronicles 20:20(b) (NIV). God by His principles will not do anything of importance concerning His children without informing His servants, the prophets. Prophecy comes to reveal God's opinion about you, your family, education, ministry, career, business, city, and nation, and to expose the diabolical plans of the devil. When God wants to do something, He sends His prophets. Prophets are under the unction to communicate the mind of God to His people. They are divine interpreters of the will and purpose of God. Your prosperity comes by believing in and acting on the prophetic words from God through the prophets God sent to you for your specific situation. In this book, you will learn how to believe in the prophet for your prosperity.

Synopsis Called to Be God's Leader Workbook by : Henry Blackaby
In Created to Be God's Friend, Henry Blackaby explored the life of Abraham, and in Chosen to Be God's Prophet, he examined God's work through Samuel. In Called to Be God's Leader, readers will see how God applies leadership principles in the life of the great biblical leader Joshua. This is the workbook companion to Called to Be God's Leader. What did God have in mind when He saw Joshua as a young slave in Egypt? How did He mold and shape Joshua to prepare him for service? Through Joshua and numerous examples from their own lives, the authors create a picture of God's ways, offering deep insight that readers can apply to their own lives.
