Genealogy of the DODGE FAMILY of Essex County, Mass. by Joseph Thompson DodgeThis was originally published in 2 volumes, and covers the period of time from 1629 to 1898. The first Volume was printed in 1894, and the second volume was printed in 1898. Both volumes were originally printed by the Democrat Printing Company of Madison, Wisconsin. In 1981, The Dodge Family Association reprinted the two volumes in one book. Pages 1 -484 contain the first volume. Pages 485 through 746 contain the second volume. The pages are sewn in and the paper used is "enamel" paper which is guaranteed to last two hundred years. The book is uniquely indexed making the information easily accessible. This Dodge Genealogy contains information about William and Richard and it also contains interesting biographical sketches of many of the descendants of William and Richard, plus a number of pictures that are of interest. Many Dodges can trace their line through this book. Maroon hard cover with gold lettering. 9-1/4" x 6-1/4" x 1-3/4".

"Richard Dodge appeared at Salem, Mass. in the year 1638 and desired accomodation. It was learned in 1881 from the Parrish Register of East Coker, Sometshire, England, that in 1622 Richard, son of Richard was baptized, date missing ... He and his wife Edith were members of the Wenham Church before 1648"--Page 9. Richard died in 1671 and Edith in 1673. "Kendall Berry b. ca. 1770-75 d. 1848 at Sodus, Wayne co. N.Y. mar. a Miss Jenkins of Irish descent. They were prob. married in Vermont ab. 1805."--Page 69. Descendants lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, California and elsewhere.
