Milking cows was my daily routine before going to school and after coming home from school. I grew up with the cows and made it my profession for twenty-five years. Later on in life, I got involved with drugs, and in doing so, I fried my brain. I spent thirty years of my life either being locked up in mental institutions or incarcerated in jails. Finally, in the year 1969, I became a born-again Christian. After I was a Christian, I still wasn’t obedient to his word. I found out one thing in serving the Lord for forty years—he doesn’t tolerate spoiled and defiant children because he chastises mighty hard.

Praying is merely talking to a friend. There is no judgment of eloquence; no rules of how short or long a prayer is. The important thing is just to take some time to quiet our busy lives and spend time talking to and being in the presence of our Lord, who loves us with all his heart.
