Synopsis "AKA Scruffy and Fluffy Adventures - Sand Point, Alaska" by : Laura Calugan

[Pick the date] The Fantastic Adventures of Robert and Darlene A.K.A. Scruffy And Fluffy--Homer, Alaska starts in Homer, where they stayed with their uncle Doug and aunt Liz and their cousins Debbie, Don, and Sally. This time, they ventured to Sand Point, Alaska, to stay with their uncle Dave, cousin Tommy, and new friends. The very first evening, they get to feed an octopus in its hiding place. As you know, Scruffy is accident-prone and always seems to get in a bind and needs help to help him out. On their halibut trip the next day, every once in a while, the accidents rub off on Fluffy, and she ends up having some sort of mishap. As their adventures continue, they learn about nature through explanation and personal experiences and always remember to praise God for His guidance and for keeping them safe. The group heads out on several trips with Uncle Dave's commercial fishing boat. They got on a fishing trip to Orzinski Bay and stayed in a hunting cabin. While they are there, they have an interesting encounter and learn some new things about Alaska. They also go fishing on Unga Island, where they get to learn about the ghost town and its past inhabitants. They spend the Fourth of July at Egg Island, where there are some surprises in store for the three cousins and a mishap at the end of the day for Fluffy. For the remainder of their stay at Sand Point, Fluffy makes a new friend, and they plan for their next adventure that will be in King Cove, Alaska. Scruffy, Fluffy, and their cousin will pull you right into their fun and adventures, stir your imagination, and encourage you to explore nature's wonders. Synopsis Coasting by : Susan Kurosawa

Tired of soy milk lattes and eternal traffic snarls, journalist Susan Kurosawa and husband Graeme Blundell bought a 1920s fishing shack at Hardys Bay on the NSW Central Coast and set about transforming it into `Peacock Cottage? (named for resident bird Alfredo). This introduced them to the local coastal fraternity of builders, plumbers, painters and other amiable ferals?from Mother Mary the real estate matriarch to Adam the Gardener, who only works when the planets are properly aligned and there?s no surf. In the course of a year, Susan and Graeme go native: he buys a ute, she becomes foster mother to the local bird population and threatens to take up watercolours and pottery. Featuring black and white illustrations, snippets of local history, special recipes for local seafood and produce, as well as information on local plants and animals, COASTING is sure to appeal to everyone who dreams of acting out their own `Sea Change?.

Synopsis Understanding English Grammar by : Thomas E. Payne

Language is primarily a tool for communication, yet many textbooks still treat English grammar as simply a set of rules and facts to be memorised by rote. This new textbook is made for students who are frustrated with this approach and would like instead to understand grammar and how it works. Why are there two future tenses in English? What are auxiliaries and why are they so confusing? Why are English motion verbs hard to use? Why are determiners so important in English? These and many other frequently asked questions are answered in this handy guide. Student learning is supported with numerous exercises, chapter summaries and suggestions for further reading. An accompanying website offers further resources, including additional classroom exercises and a chance to interact with the author. It is the essential grammar toolkit for students of English language and linguistics and future teachers of English as a Second Language.
