In this thrilling sequel to 'The Innocent', Anne de Bohun faces the challenge of raising her child in exile. Always resourceful, she flourishes as a merchant and is able to support her household. But Anne has a secret her enemies could use to destroy her. Her son is the product of a passionate affair with King Edward IV, who knows nothing of his existence. If this information were to fall into the wrong hands, it could prove lethal for Anne and her child. In Anne's dangerous world, where enemies masquerade as allies, someone very powerful wants her dead. Yet, what pains Anne the most is the uncertainty of whether she will ever see Edward Plantagenet again.

Synopsis Exiled God and Exiled Peoples by : Andrea Fröchtling

" ""Exiled God and exiled peoples"" sets out to explore the perceptions of God within a number of forcibly removed communities in South Africa and Jewish survivors of the Shoah, with the latter being predominantly of German origin. It considers rupture in individual and commmunal life-stories as a determining factor in the perception of and the relationship with God and follows the path paved by survivors of apartheid and the Shoah by recalling their topo-logy, their stories about place, displacement and terror and the encapsulated relationship with God in their respective exiles. Synopsis Exile by : David Patterson

The life of a human community rests on common experience. Yet in modem life there is an experience common to all that threatens the very basis of community—the experience of exile. No one in the modem world has been spared the encounter with homelessness. Refugees and fugitives, the disillusioned and disenfranchised grow in number every day. Why does it happen? What does it mean? And how are we implicated? David Patterson responds to these and related questions by examining exile, a primary motif in Russian thought over the last century and a half. By "exile" he means not only a form of punishment but an existential condition. Drawing on texts by such familiar figures as Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Solzhenitsyn, and Brodsky, as well as less thoroughly examined figures, including Florensky, Shestov, Tertz, and Gendelev, Patterson moves beyond the political and geographical fact of exile to explore its spiritual, metaphysical, and linguistic aspects. Thus he pursues the connections between exile and identity, identity and meaning, meaning and language. Patterson shows that the problem of meaning in human life is a problem of homelessness, that the effort to return from exile is an effort to return meaning to the word, and that the exile of the word is an exile of the human being. By making heard voices from the Russian wilderness, Patterson makes visible the wilderness of the world.

Synopsis Unfortunate Words of the Bible by : G. P. Wagenfuhr

What do unicorns, law, love, and hell all have in common? They are all unfortunate words of the Bible. Through mistranslation, cultural shifts, anachronisms, and misguided intentions, this book traces several key words whose meaning is commonly misunderstood in our world today. If the blatant mistranslation of unicorns could survive in the Bible for thousands of years, securing their place in our cultural imagination to this day, what would happen if important words, like salvation, were misunderstood? How might our cultural imaginations hide the meaning of the Bible rather than revealing it? By tearing down misunderstandings, Wagenfuhr builds up a broad overview of the story of the Bible that illustrates a more mature and more exciting vision for Christian faith(fulness) than is commonly assumed.
