English Historical Documents is the most ambitious, impressive and comprehensive collection of documents on English history ever published. A. R. Myers's research in the history of late medieval England spanned more than forty years. Throughout his academic career 15th-century England, especially the documentary remnants of its administration, held his attention consistently though not exclusively. Medieval women faced many of the problems of their modern counterparts in bringing up their families, balancing family and work, and responding to the demands of their communities. She also brings out the slow changes in the position of women over a millennium.
