The European Conference on e-Government has been running now for 18 years. This event has been held in Italy, Ireland, Belgium, UK, Slovenia, to mention a few of the countries who have hosted it. This year we are refocusing the conference to look more broadly at the area of Digital Government. The conference is generally attended by participants from more than 40 countries and attracts an interesting combination of academic scholars, public sector workers and individuals who are engaged in various aspects of Digital Government research and application.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 22nd IFIP WG 8.5 International Conference on Electronic Government, EGOV 2023, which took place in Budapest, Hungary, during September 5–7, 2023.The 28 full papers included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 106 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: Digital government; artificial intelligence, algorithms, and automation; open government and open data; smart cities, regions, and societies; innovation and transformation in government.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 21st IFIP WG 6.11 Conference on e-Business, e-Services, and e-Society, I3E 2022, which took place Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, in September 2022. The 37 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 72 submissions. These proceedings represent the work of researchers participating in the 17th European Conference on Digital Government (ECDG 2017) which is being hosted this year by the Military Academy, Lisbon, Portugal on 12-13 June 2017. ECDG is a recognised event on the international research conferences calendar and provides a valuable platform for individuals to present their research findings, display their work in progress and discuss conceptual and empirical advances in the areas of Digital Government. It provides an important opportunity for researchers and practitioners to come together to share their experiences of researching in this varied and expanding field. The conference this year will be opened with a keynote presentation by a representative from the Tax and Customs National Authority (AT), Portugal on Digital Government and Tax Challenges. The second day of the conference will be opened by a talk by Colonel Lemos Pires who will address the topic Digital Commanders in the Age of Acceleration.

These proceedings represent the work of contributors to the 7th European Conference on Social Media (ECSM 2020), supported by UCLan Cyprus, Larnaca on 2-3 July 2020. The Conference Chair is Dr Christos Karpasitis and the Programme Chair is Mrs Christiana Varda, from the University of Central Lancashire - Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus). ECSM is a relatively new, but well-established event on the academic research calendar. Now, in its 7th year, the key aim remains the opportunity for participants to share ideas and meet. The conference was due to be held at UCLan Cyprus, but unfortunately, due to the global Covid-19 pandemic it was moved online to be held as a virtual event. The scope of papers will ensure an interesting conference. The subjects covered illustrate the wide range of topics that fall into this important and ever-growing area of research.

With an initial submission of 90 abstracts, after the double blind, peer review process there are 32 Academic research papers, 2 PhD research papers, 3 work-in-progress papers and 2 Non-academic papers published in these Conference Proceedings. These papers represent research from Azerbaijan, Belgium, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sudan, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, and USA.
