Synopsis Earthfast, the Dawn of a New World by : Richard Thornton

Earthfast is the culmination of a lifetime of architectural practice and seven years of concentrated research. The journey began when archeologists at the American Museum of Natural History asked Richard to prepare architectural drawings of the Mission Santa Catalina de Guale on St. Catherines Island, GA. One discovery led to another. A big, black hole in American history was filled by reading dozens of obscure 16th and 17th century books, plus visiting many archaeological sites. Being Creek Indian, Richard was able to discern evidence from passages on Native Americans that were missed by earlier scholars. This is the first book to comprehensively examine the architecture and planning practices of the early French, Spanish and English colonies. It is unique. Richard Thornton is a professional Architect & City Planner with degrees from Georgia Tech and Georgie State University. He is the national Architecture columnist for the Examiner and appeared on the premier of the History Channel's America Unearthed.

In the centuries that followed, Hispanics and Latinos settled in Virginia to seek new opportunities away from home. The 1980s saw the beginnings of el Nuevo Sur, or the New South, as Virginia's Latin American population surged. Since then, the now-defunct Virginia Center for Latin American Art briefly showcased Virginia's Latino and Hispanic evolving arts heritage. Restaurants like Pollo Campero and La Tasca have joined the local culinary scene, and schools and churches have forged plans for their changing communities. Join author Christine Stoddard as she traces the vibrant history and culture of Hispanics and Latinos in Virginia.

One thing you have yet to discover is the joy of being a blessing to others George Hanna possesses a broad belief system based on the Bible, not humanism. It is with that in mind that he shares a volume of poetic art that illuminates the joys, sorrows, and uncertainties that accompany a journey through life. Through his poems of inspiration, reassurance, love, devotion, nature, and personal experiences, Hanna presents the positive side of life through uplifting lyrical verse intended to lead lost souls to the light, stimulate changes, and renew faith in a loving God. Through each poem, Hanna relies on his own experiences to encourage selflessness, a spreading of Gods message, and a love for all creatures in the universe. In this poignant compilation of verse, a fresh voice shares reflections intended to help both the young and the old spread their wings and find everlasting joy, faith, and love.
