Just when I was at one of my lowest points in life and thought I could not lose weight, God spoke to me through a morning prayer, and this is the reason I have written my book, Each Step I Take. God, you have directed Donnie and our WW story from start to finish. I pray for each one of you who struggle with weight issues to please take time to read what God has done for us and what God can do for you. It's never too late to start. Now being a senior citizen myself, I know exactly what senior citizens say: "I can't lose weight. It's too late for me." Well, think again. Donnie and I were both in our sixties when we started. I was 71 years old when I reached my goal and lost 215 pounds, and Donnie was 75 years old and lost 165 pounds. I always say, "If Becky and Donnie can do it, you can too." Keep a song in your heart!

Humanity must have food and drink each day in order to survival. Humanity must pause for a time of rest each day in order to maintain the strength to perform the task of the following day. Humanity must enter into some type of relationship with another person each day unless he began to feel isolated and inferior. Just as the physical and psychological aspects of man must have certain needs met each day, so must the spirit of man. We may go with the fl ow for awhile, but deep within the confi des of humanity is the soul. And that soul must experience and enjoy a renewal. Such renewal is found in a daily relationship with the Creator of life. Man must pause from his daily routine and purposefully focus on the Word of God which in turn will enrich, encourage and enable him to face each circumstance and condition that a days activities may confront him. The Bible declares, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 4):31 KJV). Within the pages of this daily devotional, you will fi nd strength, stability and satisfaction awaiting you each step of every day.

This book consists of the central motivating aims of one's life, the reason you get up in the morning. Different circumstances surround our life, which in turn makes it difficult to discover your purpose. Purpose can actually change throughout life in response to upcoming and popping priorities and changes of your own experiences. I know without God Id not be who I am today. All my praise and glory go to God and God alone. Yes, my familys backing me in all I do, but Gods strength in my life keeps me pressing on and helps me to do that which I believe is my calling in life. So as you read each poem youll be reading a piece of my life in which I wrote while going through a storm in which God saw me through. Born in Gadsden County Florida; reared in Marianna (Jackson County), Florida. Attended Jackson County Training School. Graduated with honors. Was a member of the Honor Society and Student Council. Was a member of the marching and concert band from 7th to 12th grade. Very active in school activities. Elected “Miss 12th Grade” in her senior year. Entered and won a writing contest during her senior year. Often sang solos on school chapel programs. Wrote the words to her class song which was sung in the tune of “Exodus.” In 1972, started working for the Social Security Administration and steadily escalated to higher positions through promotions. Started as a Claims Clerk, later became a Data Review Technician; then took lateral assignment to Contact Representative. Final promotion was that of a Title XVI Claims Representative where she moved to New Bern, NC. Returned to Florida in 1992. Mother of 4 sons and has 6 grandchildren, 3 of which are girls and the joy of her life since she never had any daughters. In 1997, she took early retirement to pursue her lifelong dream of completing her college education. Graduated from Everest University in 1999 where she received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. She continued her education by getting a Masters degree in Business Administration from Everest in 2001. Continuing her quest for knowledge, she later received a 2nd MBA from Colorado Technical University with a concentration in Health Care Management, graduating with honors from both Everest and Colorado Tech. Finally pursuing her lifelong passion of writing, she put together a collection of poetry that spans from 1964 to present.
