In a world where Twilight has the balls to call itself a 'saga', I think it's time to take a step away from that word. I go to a book store and see a book proclaiming to be the first in a dodecology, I'm gonna buy that book just cuz the author decided to throw down that gauntlet from the start.-Indy McDaniel, author of Nady's Nights: Road to Vengence Truth is lost in legends and legends grow over time. They grow because we need them to be bigger and we need them to explain the things we fear. We write them for ourselves and for our world. The Dead Song Legend of Tiny "Mud Music" Jones has captured the imagination of everyone that survived the apocalypse even as he captured the music of the survivors and the music that helped us all to survive.-B.B. Tarmancula, Dead World Memorial Dedication.

“Humorously entertaining. . . subtly thought-provoking. . . . Pratchett’s Discworld books are filled with humor and with magic, but they're rooted in—of all things—real life and cold, hard reason.”—Chicago Tribune Bumbling wizard Rincewind and hapless tourist Twoflower have survived a host of misadventures . . . only to face annihilation as a red star hurtles towards the Discworld in this gloriously funny second installment in Sir Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series (also the second book in the Wizards collection) It’s just one of those days when nothing seems to go right—and a most inopportune time for the first tourist ever to set foot in Discworld—accompanied by the carnivorous Luggage—to extend his already eventful vacation, even if it’s not quite by choice. A monstrous red star is on a direct collision course with the Discworld and the future appears uncertain at best. Discworld needs a hero to save it from total destruction. Unfortunately, it’s got the bumbling Rincewind, still recovering from the trauma of falling off the edge of the world. The alternative couldn’t be much worse. . . . The Discworld novels can be read in any order, but The Light Fantastic is the second book in the Wizards collection. The other books in the collection include: The Color of Magic Sourcery Eric Interesting Times The Last Continent Unseen Academicals

Strong, united families are rarely portrayed in speculative fiction. They're often dysfunctional, combative, self-destructive, or miserable, when they're portrayed at all. This is especially true for non-nuclear and adoptive families, single parent families and families with no children, which are easy targets for invalidation. And QUILTBAG families are almost never portrayed in speculative fiction, regardless of whether their families are loving or falling apart. 15 exhilarating stories of QUILTBAG families experiencing adventure, disaster, and triumph make up Fierce Family. They are families of any constellation: all sizes and configurations, families of choice as well as families by birth. They are caring and connected - when outside conflict arises, they come together to defend and aid one another. Fiercely, and without hesitation.

Will one faithless TV preacher be enough to defeat a vampire messiah? Reverend Holland Sire never intended to hunt vampires across America, especially not in an election year. He was a small time preacher and a big time party hack working the evangelical vote. But his father's writings led him to the terrible truth. Every character in the Bible, every story, is about them. And some of those ancient undead saints still stalk mankind in the night with their glowing red eyes now turned on the seats of power within the United States. Ancient disciples and new converts to the faith of blood move to feast and conquer. No one is safe and nothing is sacred to the Vampire Christ. Vampire Christ: Blood of the Lamb rips open the veil to reveal the truth in this dark horror satire. The American Church, politics, modern culture, and current events mix together in an unholy splatter that only makes sense, if you can believe in vampires.

Legend of the Walking Dead: Igbo Mythologies is a journey into the mysteries of life and death of the Igbos of Nigeria. The book draws readers into the Igbo people’s ancient and traditional beliefs about life and death. There is a very thin line dividing the land of the living and the land of the dead, so thin that spirits from both lands coexist. Sometimes, during the story, it is difficult to differentiate between the living and the dead. Both have bodies; the living existing in their bodies, while the dead exist in (are using) borrowed bodies. Fifteen-year-old Osondu has disappeared. His mother goes searching for her son and faces the same fate. She too goes missing. The gods are ever present, in control, and minister to both the living and the dead. This is because the gods minister to the spirits, not the bodies that harbor them. To the gods, the spirits of both the living and the dead are ever alive. The world of the traditional Igbo society is a world in which the dead visit and interact easily with the living. It is also a world in which most of the time the living are at the mercy of the gods.

What happens when a metal band gets caught up in the apocalypse? Even better, what happens when you give that same scenario to twelve of the genre’s hottest authors? Rosamilia, Besser, Abell, Buda, Shelman, Silverman, Stallcup, Wallen, Johnesee, Wilburn, Welmerink, Madron … each author was put to the task to take the apocalyptic story up to eleven. 1. 12. 11. The idea was simple: Gather a group of some of the best writers in the apocalyptic genre, give them parameters for a story, and let them go. That’s how Middletown Apocalypse came into being. The first book was an experiment...me wanting to show the world how individual writer voices can take on a single story and make it unique. And it worked. ...exactly how I’d expected. Mu. Ha. Ha. The reading public was surprised how well it worked. I was not. Why? Because there is some seriously good talent in the genre. Talent that could pull off what most would have normally considered an impossible feat. And here we are again. This time around we have some new writers, a new setting, a new premise (building slightly from the first), but the same idea...a collection of talent setting out to illustrate not only the power of “story”, but the power of the writer’s voice. I hope you enjoy the second edition of Middletown Apocalypse.
