Dirt Love Salt is a collection of poems by Jocelyn Freeman that reflect on her unique and extraordinary journey. Jocelyn left Sydney, with her husband, Janawirri Forrest, an Indigenous artist and musician, to experience life in regional NSW, Australia. Though no more than two hours from two major cities, both Jocelyn and her husband were confronted by the clash of values and politics related to climate change and conflicting cultures - sometimes occurring in unexpected ways. In this environment Jocelyn worked both as a secondary school teacher and as a managing editor for two country newspapers. She also started a family and renovated a house. It was an experience that allowed the innocence of city expectations to be explored against a politically dramatic global backdrop.
