This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the First International Conference on Digital Libraries, DELOS 2007, held in Pisa, Italy, in February 2007. The 33 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the book. The papers are organized in topical sections on similarity search, architectures, personalization, interoperability, evaluation, miscellaneous, preservation, video data management, 3D objects, and peer to peer.

Digital library is commonly seen as a type of information retrieval system which stores and accesses digital content remotely via computer networks. However, the vision of digital libraries is not limited to technology or management, but user experience. This book is an attempt to share the practical experiences of solutions to the operation of digital libraries. Welcome to ECDL 2003 and to these conference proceedings, featuring all the papers presented at the 7th European Conference on Research and Advanced Technology for Digital Libraries.
